Bradford is better than Haynes, as is Laumea and it wouldn't surprise me if he gets outperformed by the rookies too. It'd suck to blow third round picks two years in a row, but it happens.

The guy who is realizing going to make us look stupid is Forsythe once the Giants inevitably bench the OL killer. You want to talk about a guy who REALLY got screwed over by the coaching rather than it just being used as an excuse like it is for others...

Christian Haynes had better be the starting RG or so help me God I'm going to start a protest outside VMAC to can Hutch as a talent evaluator.
"can Hutch" Oh Hell No.

I say sign the former All-Pro LG to a one year contract today. Make Zabel give Steve's #76 back and plug him in at RG for the season. He last played in 2012 and is only 47, I think he would be a helluva lot better than anyone in our present RG log jam.
A lot better idea than a Sumo wrestler or recruiting from the Canadian football league.
It seems like RG is our single biggest weakness, 47 is just a number.

Ok, sarcasm? Do you honestly think a 47-year-old Hutch could play and make it thru the season?
There is ZERO chance he would make it thru a season. ZERO.
Have you seen how skinny he is right now? I'm going to assume you're joking. If not, that's maybe the funniest thing I've heard in the last several months..........

Do not eat paint chips for a living, mmmmmkayyyy?

Smart teams know when to cut the cord. Haynes is dead weight.

Took everyone much less time to write off Howell.
I'll trust our oline coach to make that call, he has 30 years NFL experience. Haynes might look a lot better with a new Oline coach, scheme, and better players surrounding him

And unlike some around here think, players do get better with more experience playing. ;)

Haynes has had 167 snaps in the NFL. There also seems to be a possibility that he came in out of shape and got in the dog house right away (never did hear if that was real or not). He might not pan out but he'll get a much longer look than what he's got so far I'm certain.

Bradford, Haynes and Cabeldue will battle it out and it should be a good competition to produce a viable RG.

I'm not convinced Haynes even makes the team. He's beyond terrible.

Hutch has an oddly generic job title of "football consultant", so I'm not sure what it is he really does. Regardless, a protest would be a tough pill for him to swallow.
I'd like to see some positivity out of you Rat!

Just as an exercise - can you name one positive thing about the Seahawks?

I dont dislike the line at all, I just don't think Haynes is an answer to anything. The bookends are great at least, depth is considerably improved probably.

I will preface this with its not a woulda, coulda, shoulda, hindsight is 20/20, draft complaint post. It's more for perspective and to recognize why they may have went in different directions.

From the 100th pick at the bottom of the 3rd round to the 152nd pick at the top of the 5th round, only two OLinemen were picked.
4th rd, #127 Colts/Travis/OT
5th rd, #141 Ravens/Vinson/OT

We had two chances to possibly up the OL ante in the draft.

1) 2nd rd #50 Arroyo TE
#54 Belton OT
#56 Trapilo OT
#57 Ratledge OG

2) 5th rd #166 Horton WR
#167 Slater OG
#171 Frazier OG

I think even with the knee injury Arroyo just has too much potential & upside to pass up. We needed a dynamic TE and a receiver to replace DK and we got him, knee contigent. Snagging Horton in the 5th was a gift, plus he's got a chip on his shoulder. Love the fact they bring Horton in now to learn from Kupp & JSN.
both Arroyo & Horton are talented competitors who should both really boost our passing game in the future.
These are the guys you draft when you lose a Lockett & DK.

This is the reason I am NOT saying we should have went OL in these two instances, nor #92. Because John & crew were clicking, HIT, HIT, HIT.
After the dust settled this roster was bolstered bigtime in a lethal way.
Of course rookies can underwhelm and knees can fail, but it feels like the odds are in our favor.

That leaves RG as our only glaring weakness and a group of guys to fight for the spot. Let's hope Benton and the new scheme are a turbo boost.
Maybe trade for one or sign a preseason vet cut, maybe Ouzts cleans things up, maybe Martinez refuses to be tackled. LOL.
But one things for sure, our years running OL ranking # 28, 29, 30 needs to end.
Otherwise all this awesome team building with a dozen new on offense plus three new QB's won't matter to the degree we need it to.
This offseason feels like we are heading in the right direction, like the arrow is pointed up.
Dare I say, it's starting to feel like Home field advantage in the playoffs.

We are all here to complain or praise, despite our ignorance, aren't we? Our current coach has 30 years of experience, but our previous coaches had decades of experience too, didn't they?

OK, keep up the OL discussion, we were quite optimistic about the OL 2024, the addition of Fant, who was starting LT and RT for different teams; Tomlinson, a pro-bowler; and Connor Williams, one of the highly ranked C on PFF, injected a lot of hope. Too bad that was injured, Tomlinson was our best guard, but isn't the future, Connor was the biggest disappointment, he quitted on us.

This season, is the second season Schneider's been in total control. This is likely the starting lineup:

LT - Cross: The best of what we have, but I often critizie him for subpar anchoring, his butt was often a foot or so from Geno as he was pushed towards Geno, and didn't have the strength to be away from Geno.

LG - open for competition, Haynes? Zabel? Probably Zabel, so the question would be how much better Zabel over Tomlinson in his rookie season? Tomlinson was 62 overall, 65 pass blocking, 59.7 run blocking, or 66th out of 136 guards.

C - Olu? Zabel? Olu (64 overall, 54.8 pass blk, 65.8 run blk) was kind of ok, but not inspiring. Sundell?

RG - Bradford? Haynes? Both didn't excel in 2024

RT - Lucas, he was below average in 2024.

What is your opinion on our 2025 OL? I am totally fired up, liking an OL filled with players drafted by the Hawks. Schneider didn't sign any veteran IOL in the free agent period, he was confident about the line, didn't feel the need to invest big $$$.

I was in no way optimistic about Laken Thominson.

I thought Connor Williams needed more time to get into playing shape also

Ok then, let's just not discuss anything on here then.

Go team go.
You weren't discussing anything, you said Haynes is dead weight and compared him to Howell. My response opened up a discussion

Yeah, but the coaches last season had no NFL experience. Judging limited snaps from young Oline players based off a rookie OC and rookie OL coach is jumping the gun, especially when the OC did everything to make life difficult on his OL. I want to see what Kubiak and Benton can do before I pass judgement on certain players

You weren't discussing anything, you basically just said he sucks and cut him. My response opened up a discussion.

It's almost like the thread is about... "OL 2025".

Your response was a flex about how you don't formulate your own opinions.

If that's what you got out of my response then maybe you need to dwell on it a little more, you couldn't be further from the truth.

Yes the thread is about "OL 2025", which is kind of funny how what I said apparently went right over your head
