I never understood the thought of “reaching” for a player. If you like that player, chances are, at least one or two other teams also like that player as well.
But, you would rather risk and wait until later and then draft them?? That’s a dangerous game you are playing and you would lose out on that player if they get selected before you can pick again.
I would rather draft them when I can than lose them because I thought I can draft them later.
I believe all teams have prospects that believe will be available when they draft, at least, they have a perceived “range” of there they will be drafted and if they stray away from that even just a little, they are likely gone.
They say don’t draft for need but for best available, in terms of depth wise, if you have skilled players already and you draft the same position that rookie will play, that rookie may not see the field enough to warrant that draft pick. Maybe down the road, sure, but first rounders, I want them to see the field immediately and pay immediate dividends.
Seattles need for talented offensive lineman has been a pressing need for so long—I can’t understand why it’s not a “want” for Schneider at this point.
His strategy and plans have not faired well as Seattle is consistently ranked well below the average talent for NFL offensive line.
This guy would rather work his magic with castoffs and try to make chicken salad out of chicken shit and for the longest time now.
