After thinking about it overnight, I’m changing my vote.

Rodgers could very well be the likely choice. Look at his stats last year. They are very close to Geno’s in a similar type of offense. As a one or two year rental if you can get him at a reasonable cost and bring in Adams and someone like Cooper while getting DK to stay, then this is not a bad situation at all. The only concern I have is the offensive line, but there aren’t many mobile quarterbacks available anyway so at least you know he can throw.

My list:
1- ARod
2- Daniel Jones

Hoping JJ McCarthy. But I'm not one of the many who think that Darnold sucks because of a bad playoff game.
Well, that bad finish to the season probably ended any hopes of McCarthy becoming available.

Not sure how many eggs I'd want to put in the Darnold basket, but I think he'd be an OK gamble for us. He looked phenomenal most of the season. People keep talking like he had some elite OL, but I was under the impression that it dropped off hard after Christian Darrisaw blew out his knee in week 8. They certainly didn't have much of a run game to take pressure off him.

I like how that list serves to remind everyone that regardless of what you thought of Geno, there was going to be no improving on him in 2025.

Darnold's the only chance in hell of the Seahawks being interesting this year, and his late comedown really rains on that parade.

No one will agree but I like Cousins at a league minimum and a rookie to learn behind him. Cousins has a reputation for being awesome at helping a teammate and he’s a pro so the perfect person to learn from. A repeat of Atlanta without the massive contract would be an interesting situation

I still think it’s wild people think his 16/15 ratio before the last throw away game is some insurmountable mountain to climb. You said this year you think Geno is elite and I think you’re unnecessarily dying on that hill because of that

I don't think Darnold sucks because of 1 bad playoff game. I think Darnold sucks because of his first 6 seasons in the league, and because of week 17, and because of the 1 and only playoff game he's ever played in.

I brought up Jake Browning in the Darnold thread. I'd really like to look into that possibility. I think he could be our next Hasselbeck.

EDIT: referenced the wrong thread.

You're cherry-picking the situation. 10 wins and 4,000 yards with no run game and no offensive coordinator is what we actually had. That boded positively for 2025 until DK requested a trade.

Do you see any QB on that list whom you think equates to 10 wins?

I’m not totally sure yards have almost no correlation. We can go with QBR, passer rating, td/int ratio, red zone, 3rd down etc he wasn’t elite.

You’re tilting it. I don’t think Geno was the best on that list but you’re ignoring the difference in money. Cousins at 1.2 million and the rest you can invest in the team? Yeah that could be a better situation.

That was one of my first option thoughts that could be a veteran build. Get him at veteran minimum since getting a bad from ATL already anyway.
