Agreed but he is squarely in the same group as Mariota, Jones, and the other QBs you listed. Not my choice but they did trade for him last year. They definitely need to find someone better.

We are going to get a BETTER quarterback in Darnold for 15 million per year LESS than Geno. Brilliant move!

He wants stability at QB and they may be able to go younger and give a version of that to Geno. I could be way off base though but I just feel like he may stay now. If they get a first he’s gone tho

It's going to be Howell and a drafted QB or maybe Darnold to fight it out in camp. In the new offense, we can afford to gamble on the QB position for a bit. Personally, I love this. Don't break the bank on a quarterback who overvalues his value. If anything, the Douchel Wilson saga taught us that..

Well, if we don't get a 1st and DK does decide to stay, he could be a big part of making us a contender if we get a top qb prospect.

Just make some of you mad, Albert Breer tweeted JS initiated talks by offering Geno and DK for Maxx Crosby. The Raiders declined but thats how it evolved to just Geno being traded.

Yeah. Trading Geno was not a play to make DK happy, I'm not sure when it became a 'thing' that DK doesn't like Geno (never seen any reporting to that effect).
We'll see, but there were insiders putting the odds of DK coming back at 0% before this news, so I feel like it's probably still more likely than not he's gone.
