To me, this has all the signs of adding by subtraction on both sides; a win/win albeit a tough decision. I'd expect DK to become refocused and get the proverbial chip on his shoulder. He could make a step change in productivity on a team that really makes him a focus of their offense. I think he'll be better if he's on another team.
In Seattle, JSN is the #1 WR here-forward. You can't pay 2 #1 WRs and swallow a huge QB contract... and that's Seattle's near term cap situation if DK gets a big payday. DK is a really good player but chosing between him and JSN for the next 10 years seems logical to side with JSN. Get some return, some cap relief and use that flexibility to build around JSN in the WR room as well as OL and/or future cap space for FA options.
To me, I just think it's choosing who's the longterm #1 WR....
