I understand the society of the spectacle. But I also find mass produced garbage to be less and less entertaining.

The game has devolved with more focus on capital gains than a physical contest. Which has made it less entertaining because of the implications.

We make our own meaning - not someone else or some television commercial telling us (although most Americans gladly accept being told what matters)

Anyway **** the rabbit hole - it has no value to most anymore anyway.

I’m not here to tell anyone else they have to enjoy the game or how to spend their day today I just wanted to be clear that no Super Bowl has any real meaning for fans other than entertainment. If it doesn’t entertain you than you that’s cool. I make the most of the day and spend it as a family having fun and eating good food. Nobody else in my house even cares about the game itself but we find ways for everyone to have fun. For us that includes the game, the ads, the halftime show and all sorts of other stuff. For others that might mean going on a drive or a hike or reading a good book or having a movie marathon. Just make the most of the day and enjoy it.

I'm sure it'll go down to the final play of the game...but the real story is what happens when the confetti rains down? Does she say yes? Mama Doubtfire will be so happy!

I just wish that whenever Seattle wasn't in it there would be more games in which I didn't despise at least one of the teams. If the Hawks aren't in, I just ask for a stress-free SB. But that almost never happens. That's why I knew we wouldn't see a Lions Bills Super Bowl this year.

Isn't it a good thing if you despise one of the teams? Rooting against a team is a good thing. Of course, if you despise both teams, then it's more of a problem.

They can't have two small markets play each other...ratings disaster..only real fans would watch.

Nope. If the Hawks aren't in it, I just wanna sit there and stuff my face and drink my beer with no anxiety. I would love that for a change.

I get your point - maybe we can carpe diem on all days and not just nationally designated days.

Eventually it will be like the WWE - every team will have a belt to lose - there will be the Super Bowl champs, the intercontinental champs, the intracontinental pseudo champs, the continental champs, etc

I know what you mean. Imagine the anxiety level we would have if the Seahawks were about to play today.

We can agree on that for sure. Life can definitely get in the way at times though so having days set aside can be helpful even if you don’t participate in that particular festivity.

I just said the same thing to my wife. It seems every year is hating on either the eagles or niners. I want a SB where I can eat, drink and not care what happens.

I'm shocked at the announcers. "yeah, brown just grabbed the DB's face mask and pushed his head, the refs should let that go".

Sheesh.

Sheesh.

It was mutual contact and nothing egregious or impeding
