I understand the society of the spectacle. But I also find mass produced garbage to be less and less entertaining.
The game has devolved with more focus on capital gains than a physical contest. Which has made it less entertaining because of the implications.
We make our own meaning - not someone else or some television commercial telling us (although most Americans gladly accept being told what matters)
Anyway **** the rabbit hole - it has no value to most anymore anyway.
I’m not here to tell anyone else they have to enjoy the game or how to spend their day today I just wanted to be clear that no Super Bowl has any real meaning for fans other than entertainment. If it doesn’t entertain you than you that’s cool. I make the most of the day and spend it as a family having fun and eating good food. Nobody else in my house even cares about the game itself but we find ways for everyone to have fun. For us that includes the game, the ads, the halftime show and all sorts of other stuff. For others that might mean going on a drive or a hike or reading a good book or having a movie marathon. Just make the most of the day and enjoy it.
