Perhaps, or considering the clear hassle to find an OC, I wouldn’t be surprised if this entire time they were working it details like not taking off the very next season for a HC job or pay bumps every year to ensure he stays for a bit. Maybe, I don’t know. I just don’t want this again next year.
That’s the issue with OCs every year the best ones become HCs. So collect them and train them just like QBs

Happy about it overall. Mostly wanted someone with experience calling offenses at the NFL level, and he has that. I get that our OL is our biggest issue, so getting an OL specialist makes some sense, I feel like our biggest organizational issue, is that our head coach only has 1 season under his belt and is also the defensive play caller.

Kubiak will need much less handholding than Fraley would (and Grubb did).

Thought Slowik becoming available, Seahawks might show some interest (watched some video and am pretty sure that the 'he's just like Grubb' stuff was mostly not accurate), but now I guess I'll change my focus to Kubiak.

Not my favorite choice but I trust MM. I just hope something changes in the OL process. Scouts evaluation, JS reluctance, Steve Hutchinson recommendations, coaching development. What ever the problem is!!

I can’t wait to see what he can do!

Honest question though..

Why does a guy make a lateral transfer like this? Did we more than likely offer way more money? I could see if we had a young, talented QB who could propel Klint to a HC job in short order but we obviously don’t.

What I want to know is who are the assistant coaches. Those guys can play a major role in player development and scheme implementation. Mediocre voices often lead to poor execution. Time to kick some azz!

The biggest thing with Grubb was no nfl experience. This hire fixes that. He had the saints offense playing out of this world the first few games of the season before they were destroyed by injuries.

Home run hire.
