Listening to the guy from N.O. on 710, he was saying the offense was hot for a while, but injuries just killed all that momentum.
In my opinion Fraley is the hire here. Brown and Kubiak are fine but looking at what Fraley's been a part of in Detroit and knowing you aren't getting Johnson I think this is the next best thing:
That may be true, and as they said in the video none of the candidates are perfect but if those are the three choices I agree with Huard. I'd rather have the guy who wants to bring a gap blocking scheme then a guy who wants to bring zone blocking.Remember Waldron? Guys said if we can't get McVay, Waldron was the next best thing.
Not the same thing as Fraley has NFL coaching experience with one of the more potent offenses in the league.Remember when MM picked Grubb as the OC?
You know.... The dude without an ounce of NFL coaching experience.
Kubiak has only worked with skill positions outside of his coordinator jobs, but his system is one that is synonymous with tightly calibrated zone blocking schemes. Alex Gibbs, Mike Shanahan type stuff.I think Kubiak has some offensive line experience too? I could be wrong. I think I would be fine with Fraley or Kubiak but wonder if the odds are on Fraley getting it as Kubiak could be signed now.
I would take the hot start with a grain of salt...the first 2 games where they absolutely went off were against the Panthers and the Cowboys who were 2 of the worst defenses in the NFL, especially at the start of the season. They followed that up with a dud against the Eagles with what appears to have been their full compliment of players. Not saying that Kubiak is or is not the right hire because I have no idea!Listening to the guy from N.O. on 710, he was saying the offense was hot for a while, but injuries just killed all that momentum.
he did a lot of play action stuff if I remember correctly.Kubiak has only worked with skill positions outside of his coordinator jobs, but his system is one that is synonymous with tightly calibrated zone blocking schemes. Alex Gibbs, Mike Shanahan type stuff.
A whole lot more under center stuff too.
Yep, they are being thorough. I like it. A second interview isn't necessarily a lock to land the job. Some people in the media seem to be jumping the gun. Isn't Fraley supposed to be getting a second interview too?I feel like there's more we haven't heard yet. Leave no stone unturned.
