MMac preaches discipline and accountability as has been pointed out. He's walked that walk by cutting players that weren't performing. He's openly explained Geno isn't the issue.

This leads me to the conclusion Grubb is out. MMac cut the LB corp mid-season. Pete was constantly criticized for holding onto loser coaches/coordinators too long. I don't see anything pointing to a grace period for Grubb. If Grubb gets a 2nd year (and I'm not saying that's a bad choice- if there's a reason we don't see. I just don't expect it), MMac will have to explain why multiple players get cut for poor execution, but the OC gets another 17 games. Maybe there's a good explanation but if he doesn't put one out there, the fan base, locker room, press... will all see him as pretty two-faced.

the two aren't the same. Players are easier to replace. If you whack an O coordinator then you have to bring in a whole new system far more reaching implications than cutting two less than mediocre LB's.

He brought in a new D and made changes on the fly throughout the season.
I think you can very well do the same on offense with a pro OC.

I'd like to see Grubb grow and succeed. I just don't know what goes on behind the scenes with our little coaching community. It's one of those things where I'm just going to roll with what happens.

did he though? I'm betting Geno changed out a few of these plays from runs to passes.
No worries with our own ApplyHawk stepping in as the decider, we shall trade away DK, GeNO and Lockett, sign Justin Field as our franchise, HOPE, QB. Field won't audible away any of Grubb's plays like GeNO.

How do we actually know that? And, for the record, the way Geno changes plays and barely gets the snap off drives me insane.
No worries, our ownership read the dot net and heard everyone's frustrations over GeNO. Please rest assured that Geno will be gone soon, and we will rock with Howell for 2025. We may also sign Justin Field as suggested by ApplyHawk to provide some competition to Howell.

Hey Field might not work out in Chicago and Pittsburg, but those teams didn't have Grubb, did they?

If Grubb sticks around you need pass blocking studs to run the 4 verts offense. Monken is the current OC for the Ravens and they tend to be a well balanced offense using 4 verts.

4 verts requires three stud WRs: Check, Seattle has this easily.

4 verts requires five stud pass blocking OL: Seattle does not have this.

4 verts requires a two way RB that can catch passes and run. Seattle has this.

4 verts requires at least 2 two way TEs that can block and catch. Seattle has this.

The common thinking is that 4 verts is a pass happy offense but Monken has really turned it on this year for Henry. Henry has 305 attempts so far and is closing in on 1800 yards. Grubb could do more balance in his play calling but really you need an OL to be able to call more balance for run or pass.

Who are these 3 WR studs?

JSN is a top end WR2. DK just isn't a #1, just another higher end #2.

DK to me is a #1 because if he can be a #1 on half the teams in the league then for me he is good enough as a #1. DK and JSN are fine as future #1 and #2 respectively. Just need to find a replacement for Lockett or Bobo develops further for #3.
