-- Let's for a moment consider the worst case scenario going into week 18. And that would be that the game doesn't matter to us at all. We are already eliminated. The Rams beat the Cardinals and they get 4 wins out of the 6 games in question. They would have the division by tie breakers. At that moment.....

I say let all injured sit out and see what we have behind them, if not injured they play, maybe more rotation but lets not piss off guys either, we have a lot of guys that need to be resigned also.

Geno starts and helps build his resume for the offseason.

Howell doesn't need more time. He's been doing this most if not his entire life and he still hasn't figured it out? No thanks, go figure it out somewhere else.

We wouldn't have signed Geno to begin with had our front office thought the way you did in your second paragraph.

If you’re already in and the last game is meaningless, the NFL is ok with you not playing your starters.

Doesn’t work the other way around.

I think there’s a chance that the fanbase iq cant be summed to triple digits.

Teams frequently put in backup players in that situation. It's hardly a low IQ opinion. Hell, very likely the Rams will be doing the same thing if their seed is cliched.

I will make an addenda to what I said earlier. Geno has clauses in his contract that give him bonus guarantees based on performance. If holding him out or a meaningless final game can save us millions of cap for next year than I wouldn’t be opposed as that could help us win long term by having more cash available to sign players this off season.

With that said I’m not sure what those bonuses are so this fame may not change those at all.

If the game truly doesn't matter let the backups play - see what they have....

Winning matters, and I would lose respect for the coaching staff if they did anything less than trying their best to win the game. Start Geno.

Another way to think about it....you start Howell and he looks as bad as he did a couple of games ago. Clearly not the QBOTF. That gives Geno some extra leverage when he demands an extension after the season (which he will).

The Jets might not understand this along with a lot of our fans, but he ☝️ ain’t wrong.

I'd personally like to see Howell, however, it'll be Geno regardless.

I say we start Howell as long as we know we are out of the playoffs. Mike did and excellent job his first year. He has never been a headcoach but he did what he was supposed to do. He fixed the defense to being a top 15 defense his first year. It can only get better once he has a full offseason.
