If it turns out Geno is having another bad day tomorrow I would like to see Howell get PT. He needs it and has experience behind a deficient O Line. I'd like to see if he has learned anything since then.
While I personally disagree with this premise (no, he doesn't need PT and no, I don't want the Seahawks to be in 'let's find out what we're doing next year' mode already), I think it's important to recognize that Howell actually
doesn't have experience behind a deficient O-Line.
The Commanders O-Line last year was top 5 by ESPN Blocking Win Rate metrics and top half of the league in time to pressure. They were also top half in the league in stuff rate on run plays.
Howell has experience taking a lot of sacks, sure, but that's not because his offensive line was bad. They were in a different stratosphere than the line we've been playing with for the last season and a half. (Washington's line is good this year, too, but only 2 of the starters from last year remain).
