You didn’t watch the game and just looked at stats which you are critical of when people do it to Geno. He also had two touchdowns called back.
Russ looked really good last night. He was hitting the quick game, he extended plays, threw a couple of his best in nfl history deep balls and won the game. They don’t win that game either Fields.
This post feels like you didn’t watch it and you’re trying to fit it into your narrative if I’m being honest. You can think Geno is great and also give credit to Russ when he deserves it and the reverse is true. We should be ale to say we think Russ is still really good and acknowledge when Geno plays well. Unfortunately this stuff seems to become like the forbidden topic the way people argue it.
So now we're just throwing out unconfirmed accusations for fun? Pretty disrespectful.
I watched a bit in real time. Not a lot, but I did go through the Russ plays I could find on Twitter afterward to fill in some gaps.
Let me clarify before you misrepresent what I'm saying:
I'M NOT SAYING THAT RUSSELL PLAYED BADLY.
I'M NOT SAYING THEY WIN WITH FIELDS.
I'M NOT SAYING HE THREW ONLY DEEP BALLS.
I'M NOT SAYING HE DIDN'T THROW ANY QUICK PASSES.
What I AM SAYING is that Russell Wilson is successful when he plays within the confines of a ball control offense. One that maintains balance and doesn't put pressure on him to create just to move the chains.
When Russ accepts that role, he looks like the Russ that won a hell of a lot of games.
The problem is, at some point, he stopped accepting that role and created a narrative that putting him in that role held him back.
It looks like he's back. I have always said that Russell Wilson runs one type of offense well, and this is that type of offense.
I shouldn't even have to compare him to Geno but, of course, you've got people spamming in this thread about "better than Geno better than Geno better than Geno" so the conversation shifts to that. I certainly am not the one who brought him up.
