We are not as bad as we think we are after our second loss at 3-2 and we were not as good as we thought we were at 3-0.

Hyperbole is strong after a shocking loss but I am the first to admit this one stunned me.

Guess my Book It slogan needs to be shelved. My bad.

The Seahawks should be well rested for Thursday night since they took today off. Losing to the Lions is one thing but losing to the Giants at home is something else. So much for that improved Seahawk defense.

I wasn't shocked by the loss. The Giants are a pretty good team, and they've shown it all year.

What surprised me is how we're losing. Our defense has been dominated in back-to-back games. I did not have that on my bingo card.

No matter how the defense plays, whether they turn it around or not, no team makes a deep playoff run with one of the worst olines in the league. Ever.

Murphy is the Defense. Aka AD was the Rams Defense. Thats how I see the last two losses.

When you have a guy who’s commanding 2-3 people from the offense to guard him, that leaves everyone else to feast. Without him it’s the same defense last yr

Against the Lions I could see why, our defense was a MASH unit, patched up front. BUT we got most of everyone back and we lost the ability to tackle, make plays, you name it...the wheels fell off against a very beatable team. We made Jones looks like he was ready for the playoffs....I know we can play better than this...not sure what is going on with this team...too much talent to play so subpar.

I love Murphy but out of the two I’d say Mafe has more of an impact. Murphy is more of a run stopper and our pass defense has looked like absolute trash the past two weeks. Our run defense hasn’t dropped off quite as much.

Right now we are not ready to make a run. We can still enjoy the season and maybe get into the playoffs if the offense plays up to where they should be.

Who knows, maybe Macdonald can get this defense up to par by seasons end, but for now I’ll root for us every week and take whatever result we get.

Exactly. Somewhere in the middle pretty much. I'm just numb today. All that stuff at the end happened in my end zone too, right in front of me. It briefly looked like it was gonna' be an epic comeback.........then........block.

This team can look like they can beat anyone and also look like they can be beat by anyone.

This team currently has no identity and on offense runs hot and cold with the run game. They either run the ball a lot or not run at all.

Why is it with this team, one person or two starters are out and the product on the field looks like a mess?

I think there are some coaching inconsistencies currently and I hope Mac fixes this cause Seattle is not as good as I hope they would be right now.

This loss was a huge letdown and Seattle could have easily began putting the pedal to the metal on the rest of the division but took a major step back with this loss.

This was a big loss, let’s not fool ourselves.

Seattle could have been in the driver seat and took a big lead on the division but left the door open for the other teams to remain just behind a little bit.

Very, very, disappointing loss.

I way overestimated where this team was at and what it really was. Were a 7-win team that is in transition. We're not going to make the playoffs this year. We need probably 2 years to get the pieces in place to contend and it's going to take all season for us to get the defense implemented. We have the worst O-line in the league, that's not hyperbole, that is fact. It's going to take another draft and some trades to get us the right guys on the Oline.
Today I have dialed back my expectations and my plans to watch games live. Right now, this isn't something I want to dedicate 3+ hours to watching. It's not entertaining or enjoyable. I'll catch the few wins we get this year on NFL+ replays. Been a diehard since 1976, watched a LOT of bad football during that time and I just don't have it in me anymore. I'm going fairweather fan on these guys.
Confident Mike will turn it around and make JS see the light on spending money on the O-line. This can't continue.

When Macdonald took over the Baltimore defense it took a few weeks for them to gel and then they finished the year in dominating fashion. It's a whole new system, new coach, new players for that coach etc and sometimes it takes a little time. His defense is also very complex so it should be expected to take some time. I also think it may take a couple of off season cycles to get the players that best fit his system so we need to be a little patient.

Having said that I agree that Murphy is a critical piece and once him and Mafe are back it reverts back to being a decent defense.

This loss is really concerning. I don't like that the team "looked past" the Giants and I also don't like that they came out so flat. If we don't come out on Thursday and redeem ourselves, I'm going to have a bad feeling.
