And we don’t deserve any until we beat an upper echelon squad like Detroit. Now if we go into Motown on Monday night and deep dick the Lions with no vaseline that all changes. I like the matchup. We need to contain Montgomery and pressure Goff’s ass all night long. I like the Hawks 32-9 in a nail biter

“Don’t deserve any”?

“Any” ?

Come on man, I’m about as pessimistic as it gets, but even I think the Seahawks have EARNED a measure of respect.

New coach, almost a complete new staff, and ya know we have that POS Geno Smith @ QB and are still one of only 5 undefeated teams.

I get it, no real test is the consensus.

But ya know what, wins don’t come easy in today’s NFL and even the 32nd ranked can pull off a win occasionally.

I don’t (can’t) buy what you’re selling, and that’s coming from someone that has been public with my expectations this next game.

Well let's all be honest with ourselves, yes W is W in the NFL, but with Tua going down the Hawks couldn't ask for a softer start in competition. These 3 W's could prove to be vital come the end of December.
Overall with our new Coach Mac regime you have to like what you see, plus I'm loving the play calling from Grubb. Seems to play the matchups heavy. Like Dk & JSN going off the same game, then the next week he liked Fant's machup better then JSN so he exposed that. Hope he continues to exploit teams weaknesses. We still need upgrades on the Oline, our Guard situation is still sad, hopefully Haynes can get the RG position figured out?
As for our Def, I'm holding reservation until Monday, if we can baffle Detroit and hold them under 21, I'll be a firm believer in McDonald's wizardry! I kinda already am, I just want see how we stack up against one of the better offenses in the league.

Respect?

I’m a Seahawks fan and have been one since ‘76. I’m used to having this team from south Alaska ignored by the national media even when they deserve even a rare mention.

Of course it pisses me off as it does to many of the rest of you all, but really what matters doesn’t depend upon respect just how the whole season turns out.

If they/when they beat the Lions next Monday night they’ll grudgingly get some respect even if the majority of the media will offer up, they that left coast team is overachieving, were lucky, the Lions were hurt, blah, blah. Should they lose there’ll be a whole lot of told you schmaltz. It won’t change a thing I’ll still believe the team will have a good season despite the negative reporting.

Don’t say you haven’t seen this show before, remember how Denver was going to destroy the LOB with the best O the league has seen In that wonderful SuperBowl. Yadda yadda, whatever.

Of course some here will bail if the Lions win but most of us will just shake it off and look to get it back together against NYG and the hated Digits.

Respect is nice but winning is best, 3-0 deserves respect even if it's qualified respect. However, does it really matter in the end? Just win, baby; and screw them.

They’ll respect a winner. 4-0 will be nice.

Smile and wave boys, smile and wave.

Seattle could be 13-0 and the lead story on ESPN or NFL Network would be "What's wrong with the Cowboys?". Just accept it. The national punditry is a reflection of the entertainment corporations that own them. Their motives are entirely profit-centric and have nothing to do with fairness, or respect, or balanced coverage. Seattle is the furthest thing from their minds. Case in point, the Viking's defensive coordinator is now being labeled a mad scientist, but nary a mention of the meteoric statistical rise of Seattle's defense relative to last year. It is why Matt Ryan has a Sunday morning job at the expense of Matt Hasselbeck. The homerism must align with the ownerism.

It is why we, as Seahawk fans, are the only entity that can push our Hall of Fame candidates over the finish line. No one else is going to do it for us and further, no competitive candidates need our additional assistance. They get plenty of national punditry assistance as it already is. The only credible, current national voice that will dependably advocate for the Seahawks is Richard Sherman and his platform exists partially due to him occasionally wearing a Forty Niner hat as well. For that reason, the Seahawk organization would be wise to give Richard Sherman all of the exclusive access that he wants.

JFC, I'm just enjoying watching a football game where our defense actually looks like it's capable of stopping someone.
This is supposed to be a rebuilding/learning year with a 1st time HC & a whole new coaching staff on both sides of the ball & we're 3-0. Don't see how anybody could be any less than pumped for our future prospects let alone say the team didn't deserve a win or even "respect" for that matter.
.NET is a weird place.

I’d argue that it’s not the “place” that’s weird.

You need a Bronco type annihilation to get their attention as well as cost a lot of betting money to yank their heads around. Embarrass the Mediots, take the league and shove Egypt and South Alaska in their face. That's how we get respect.

Yeah, the first loss Seattle takes and the "experts" will come down hard
You are absolutely right. In a place where pining for your god given right to marginalize the team and its players at every opportunity is characterized as normal and the people that dissent from that are considered weird. After all, it is weird to confuse fandom with a fan site.

.Net truly is a weird place. I'm still trying to figure out how to block moderators. I don't want to read the veiled insults. I prefer "stand up" people that aren't afraid to openly do so. So that I can block them with unimpeachable cause. It is the inherent site mechanic that allows me to lower the temperature, but apparently only works for certain scenarios. I suppose there is a certain responsibility that comes with the "unblockable" title and perhaps that explains the reason why the insults have to be so cleverly disguised in such a self-perceived way.

After 3 games I like everything they’ve been doing minus the penalties but it’s 3 games and we haven’t really turned any heads as far as pundits or analysts. In order for us to garner our due respect we need to treat this Detroit game as a playoff game and win convincingly

3-0 doesn't earn any respect?

Still lots to fix and to improve upon. Regaining some OLine/DLine health would be a good thing as well.

You're not aware that we jumped up from outside the top 10 to #4 in the power rankings?
There's a thread about it & everything.
