I mean how many was that? dude only passed for 20 TD's all year, that's barely 1td per game. It was good to see him get some come from behind wins, but you are acting like he was some offensive juggernaut. Dude might have 1 4td game in his entire career. Let's see how our guy does with a better Oline before we start crowning this guy elite.
I found this hard to believe myself at first, but the 20 TDs thing isn't as bad as it sounds. Passing stats were way, way down last year. Only 4 passers had 30+ TDs league-wide last year. The passing stats for last year look straight outta 2006.
Geno had 20 TD passes in 15 starts.
Matthew Stafford had 24 in 15 starts.
Patrick Mahomes had 27 in 16 starts.
CJ Stroud had 23 in 15 starts.
Trevor Lawrence had 21 in 16 starts.
Sam Howell had 21 in 17 starts (with the most pass attempts in the league).
Joe Burrow was on pace for 22.5 (15 through 10 starts)
Kyler Murray was on pace for about 21 (10 through 8 starts)
It definitely wasn't great (Geno had the 17th most passing TDs in the league, likely would've been ranked about 13th if he didnt miss some time) but I think the whole "no running game in the redzone or on third and short" thing made it really, really tough to finish the job consistently.
