He's a prime example that the draft is a gamble, no matter how good you are at it.
The early Pete tenure kind of spoiled us in terms of what to expect from a draft.

The reality is that one is hoping for a very unlikely outcome if they're expecting stars in round 2, especially at the premium spots. It happens, but we're talking maybe 10% of the time you get a guy who'll make even 1 Pro Bowl in their career at that juncture.

Great teams are made with a good coach, a good QB, a few of those draft hits, and then 40 guys who do their job.

How many 6ths do they now have for the ‘25 draft? They moved from the 7th to the 6th with the MJ trade. Now a 6 for Taylor. JS must see a lot of talent in next years 6th round.
Actually, the answer is two... our native pick and the one for Taylor.

The MJ trade was a straight up player for player swap... no draft picks. The trade you're thinking of was the Nick Harris trade to CLE... but the swap of 6th and 7th round picks isn't until 2026.

We also expect to be awarded two comp picks in 2025 according to otc.com... a 4th and a 5th.

So right now, I believe that we have a total of 9 picks:

Our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th and 7th (we traded our 5th to NYG for Big Cat)... plus the comp 4th and 5th rounders... plus a 6th for Darrell Taylor.

Thank god they got something for him. He was absolutely horrible. No use being a pass rusher if you cant tackle a QB!

Kind of amazing they are finding trade partners this time of year. Most teams just wait for cut down day.

Oh well, thought he was maybe coming around, but at least we got something for him.

Yup, gangbangs are always a bit messy, look,.... Taylor was worth a 4th, I'd settle for a 5th, but a 6th ! That makes my butt cheeks hurt.

Hallelujah. There is a God.

Now, if we get a 6th…hell…anything for Eskridge, it’ll confirm that God’s favorite team is the Seahawks.

If he is worth a 4th, some team would have offered it.

You can bet that John was shopping him to any/all teams.

For those butt cheeks, I'd go with A+D Ointment. Worked wonders on my baby boys.

I wonder if we have a glaring need this season and its hurting us if we make a trade with those mid round picks. I can't imagine them using them all in the draft. (I wouldnt touch or 1st or 2nd rd picks this year in any trade)

This is another "fit" move. Darrell Taylor never quite expanded his role beyond that of a pass rush specialist.

John did right by Taylor in trading Darrell to a team with room for a rush specialist. Maybe he can expand his role in Chicago.

This move will increase available cap space by a little under $2.2M.

Wonder if we are looking for a nose tackle next. Hankins is the main one but not much depth there.
