Is #19 cursed for QB's?

I'm watching the LA/Dallas game right now (BTW, McVay should do the smart thing and give Stafford's job to Stetson Bennett 😉)

Back to the main topic, Trey Lance is maybe the first QB I've seen wear #19. It seems like 99% of QB's want to wear #18 or under. Is that on purpose or what?

Didn’t Flutie wear 20 or something weird like that?

Joe Montana (Chiefs) and Scott Mitchell are the only #19s I remember. Havnt heard of it being considered unlucky though.

You occasionally see QBs wearing weird numbers in college. Ohio State's backup last year wore #33. There was also Devin Gardner (#98), Bernie Kosar (#20), Heath Shuler (#21). Teddy Bridgewater wore #50 for the Lions last year for some reason.

Johnny Unitas wore 19, but that was 50 years ago.
That counts, many didn't wear it after since it was iconic with him He was playing and was a legend, John Hadl wore 21, also Unitas would probably threaten to kick whomevers ass that wore it and sucked :)

Way before my time, but he's such a big player in NFL history that me forgetting him is inexcusable.

Just looked up other #19s. Ironically, Bernie Kosar, who I just mentioned in my last post wore it. Tom Tupa too, who was sort of a QB. I actually have one of his jerseys and didn't think of him.

The Seahawks have literally only had one QB ever wear it: Bill Munson, who appeared in five games for us as a backup in the inaugural 1976 season. He threw just one touchdown in those five games, an 11-yarder to Steve Largent in the third quarter of a 51-27 home loss to the Saints.

According to PFR, the best approximate value for any Seahawk at all wearing #19 is 2. That's a tie between Tanner McEvoy and Jake Bobo. They barely beat out Munson, Fabien Bownes, Penny Hart, and Bryan Walters, who have an AV of 1.

Jeeze, Rams and Cowboys? Yikes. That's basically like when any two of France, England, and Argentina play in the World Cup. The best possible outcome is the entire field falling down into Hell, taking both teams with it.

John Hadl wearing #21 deserves a mention for weird QB jersey numbers.
