PFF player rankings give Seahawks no love

PFF did a preseason ranking of the best players at every position, and the Seahawks did not do very well. The Seahawks only had one player ranked above 16 at his position, Kenneth Walker at #12. There were two positions where the Seahawks had no players in the top 32, which means that they thought some team's second best player at that position was better than the Seahawks' best player.

I think that Geno, DK and Noah Fant are ranked way too low, as is Witherspoon and Leonard Williams.

A few players could be 4 or 5 spots higher. Multiple positions have 2 starters, (3 at WR), so those ratings are out of 64 starters. On paper this a slightly below average team with no superstars or consistent difference-makers.

The ratings reflect previous team schemes and how players were used prior to 2024...and this is why the previous coaching staff was replaced. In 12 months these ratings could look very different.

DK is probably 10-15, Geno 15. But I’ve got no issue with the ranking if guys in O. Fant hasn’t done much in Seattle.

On D, there isn’t 20 guys I’d trade Spood for, probably not 3-5 other CB I’d trade him for. Woolen I trade strait up for a bunch of guys. Provided they are willing tacklers and can cover. Williams will be higher, if he can stay healthy

I always like to see what people not biased for the team think about the players. I think these are close though I think Geno is too high and DK is too low. Of course playing Geno might be causing that low ranking for DK.

Spoon for sure is way too low. The rest aren’t worlds off of reality. Hopefully a few prove them wrong

PFF is useful if done correctly. Their rankings are directionally correct but not absolute. If there were a better system we'd be hearing it mentioned.

I feel like these rankings have a lot to do with where PC was in his career and how the players reacted to that. They're human after all so I can't fault them if some only gave 90% because they felt PC was doing the same.

I think these player rankings will show improvement after next season.

I've gotten used to seeing our players ranked lower than where we expect them to be. I like it! Being an old school type I don't mind our players having to prove themselves the old fashioned way, by EARNING it. If they can do that we'll be just fine. If they can't we know where we need to look for replacements. Win win.

Chris Collinsworth has a lot to answer for. Oh wait, that’s right, he bought the company and then shoved it down our throats during every broadcast. No conflict of interest there though. And now it’s supposed to be some sort of bible we should all be adhering to. Thanks, Chris.
