These two moves of Geno signing and todays move, nobody will know the direction they will go with the 5th pick. They are keeping the other Gm’s guessing now.

Noice! Great start to our front 7 makeover. Love the fact that the dude is only 26 and his best football could still be ahead of him. Really wasn't expecting a splash signing like this to be honest.

PFF grades don't tell the whole story. I would point out that another FA interior lineman, Daron Payne, was also graded poorly by PFF. He was ranked 65th among DIs. The eye test would tell you that doesn't make much sense. Yes, it's true that players like Chris Jones, Dexter Lawrence, Aaron Donald, and Quinnen Williams are at the top of the list, making the grades seems legit, but you figure that the graders may be fudging, consciously or subconsciously, knowing who they are grading.

Shelby was awful in pass rush. Jones should be a game changer there. I still think we go DT with #5 and all of a sudden... 4 3 scheme is POPPIN.

Love this signing. Still don't think they take Carter. JS when asked why his last class was so good he said because character was #1 and they won't deviate from that. Why make it a point of emphasis this close before the draft only to do the opposite with Carter? He has effort, conditioning and legal issues. I think they go QB or Anderson and if the QB that falls isn't their guy they trade down. Wilson doesn't really fit the 3-4 so it's not him either

Whoa!!!! Just waking up to this, this guy is a beast. Ok, we didn't sign Hargrave but we got Dre'Mont instead, I can live with that. Nice addition Seahawks front office.

Carter exceeds all that because his talent is undeniable, if he's there at 5 you take him without even a whiff of hesitation

The funniest thing to me was the mf played in Denver and was all in on being a seahawk. How much was he a cap casualty because of the Wilson contract?

The Broncos spent a lot of money today, on McGlinchey ($87 million) and Powers ($52 million) and Zach Allen ($45 million), so I don't think money was the issue. I think that the new DC, Vance Joseph, who was at Arizona last year, wanted Allen more than Jones.

Dude and Kancey would be my wish
Jones who is listed at 281lbs and Kancey who is also very light would not be a great pairing in a 3/4 D. Carter if he’s there makes much much more sense.

What a great move!! Hopefully now we can trade back a bit and get another book end across from him. Then grab Mazi Smith in the 2nd, and our dline is set. I'ld be cool with a front 3 of Dre'Mont, Mazi, Myles Murphy

You do realize that high drafted defensive lineman have just as high of a draft bust rate as QB's right? Carter is anything but a slam dunk. He looked pedestrian vs. Ohio State, he played only around 40 percent of his teams snaps, his stats aren't particularly impressive compared to other top end D-Lineman of previous years. Carter was called out by his coach a year ago for lack of endurance. He still struggled just as bad towards the end of the year and he believed "wind sprints" before the big game would fix his problem.

Carter also was known for taking plays off and having a poor motor.

In addition to this we have the off season problems. He's got a lot of character concerns and quite frankly the more I watch him, the less impressed I am. He's not a slam dunk, he's anything but a slam dunk.

Is this the first big early signing JS has made? I know Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril were signed in March of 2013, but it wasn't for this kind of money. In fact, if I remember correctly, Bennett's contract was for 1 year at around $5Mil.
