completely different type of player. dre'mont jones isn't an every down player, is seen purely a pass rusher. the addition of dre'mont jones certainly doesn't rule out drafting carter. carter and his character flaws, however, may rule out drafting carter.

People on Bears forum are pissed that with his $100M cap space, Poles let a lot of big fish swim away today, and this was one of the biggest. When he says he is going to build through the draft, he apparently means it.

I read an early criticism of Jones said that he was primarily a run stopper, and not a pass rusher. Recent stats show a good pass rusher, but I wonder if he is good all around.

No clue as I haven't watched enough tape on him to have an opinion, but what's the skinny on his run stopping ability?

What's this mean for drafting Carter?

I personally felt like the interior of the DL was a much bigger need then Edge guys and probably still is even after this signing but I think this allows them a little more flexibility going into the draft. I also think a signing like this only makes Carter or anyone else upfront instantly better. If Carter is there at 5 i think it's a slam dunk.
