But I agree I want to see DT and DE invested in first.

Exceptions don't excuse the rule. Look no further than the stiffs we've drafted later in the 1st round or early 2nd like Collier.

My point is if there's a generational elite DT or edge rusher at whatever spot we're drafting 1st? Then we'd be stupid not to take him.

It might even be worth giving up another pick to get him if we have to move up a couple spots. Our D-line is desperate for a playmaker/game wrecker.

Depends wholly on how the board falls.

If you don't have a blue chip pass rusher there, don't settle.

This needs to be a cornerstone player. Ideally, it's a difference-maker in the front 7.

I say interior of the line, either side of the ball, but I think it's far too dependent on where the 'Hawks picks line up. Sometimes the best guy left at the position of need is someone you can probably get with a later draft choice and the BPA for a different less dire need is going to be gone if you don't take him then and there.

But our needs are on the line (like pretty much every team, every year), specifically interior on OL, but could apply to DL as well. Followed by LBs, then Safety. After that, it's trickier.

Seems like drafting the "darling" of the draft hasn't worked out for most. Genos good, but like your saying... lots of other positions that can make the team good.
All wilson had to produce was 19 points and the Broncos D would have bailed him out more then he deserved

I'd love some interior defensive line, but that can be handled outside of premium range. With volume, too.

Since 2000, three of the 47 QBs chosen in the sixth round (6.4%) have been good: Brady, Marc Bulger, and Tyrod Taylor, although you could argue Taylor is more a journeyman type.

It's hard to find QBs later on. Even in the second round, nearly 75% have been disappointments.

Five years on, it would be nice if they could draft a reliable replacement for him.

Jalen Carter is actually a generational talent. Most comparisons I have seen is Sapp. That was a long time ago. People call Anderson a generational talent, but comparisons here and elsewhere is Parsons. A guy who is less than three years older. Not generational. I like what I have seen from Anderson. I expect him to be an All-Pro, but I expect the same from Carter. Looking at our depth in each position, we need a DT far more than we need an Edge.
