Maybe we're turning a corner in 2025? However, it's crazy how Ms started strong in the spring the previous two seasons, then miss the playoffs. The 2022 season, however, was flip-flop of that.

Record comparison after 30 games in April:
  • 2022: 12-18 (.400)
  • 2023: 17-13 (.567)
  • 2024: 17-13 (.567)
  • 2025: 18-12 (.600)

Season comparison:
  • 2022 season: 90-72 (556; MADE THE PLAYOFFS ending a 21-year postseason drought)
  • 2023 season: 88-74 (.543; missed playoffs by 1 game despite 90.2% chance of qualifying on Sept. 2)
  • 2024 season: 85-77 (.525; did not make playoffs, had blown an AL West 10-game lead by July 24)
  • 2025 season: hopefully good enough to actually make the playoffs

Biggest change in 2025 compared to 2024 (so far): massive improvement in offensive stats:
  • Batting Average: .241 (18th in MLB) in 2025 (30 games) vs. .217 (28th) in 2024 (full season)
  • Runs Scored: 152 (8th) in 2025 vs. 109 (27th) in 2024 (both 30 games)
  • OPS: .754 (6th) in 2025 (30 games) vs. .649 (26th) in 2024 (full season)
After building a 10-game lead during the 2024 season, both offense and pitching began to deteriorate.

So to make the playoffs in 2025, we forgot to suck in April like we did in 2022!

But seriously, I'm hoping the big offensive performance improvements so far sticks around the entire season and gets the Ms back to the playoffs.

I don't recall April records being that good. I suppose the way we won those games is what is important here.

We'll see how we sustain. We've had some early injuries, but have been doing OK. Somehow this year feels a bit more hopeful.
