No offense intended, but why speculate when a simple web search supplies the actual meaning?

View attachment 55753
Because it was worth the effort to speculate. It wasn't worth the effort to look it up.

There really should be a unit of measurement for caring. My level of caring would be dipping into negative numbers.

I would argue it is not a decline but more so defenses caught on what they needed to do. When teams started to play cover 2 high shell it correlates with declining RW stats. Mentally RW should know that if it is a cover 2 high shell you check in at the line. And you auidible to go for quick slants, run up the gut or a quick pass up the seem with a TE. Basically it becomes pitch and catch until the defense decides to come out of the cover 2 shell. Brett Favre used to do this all the time against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they went to cover 2 or tampa 2 coverage.
With his decline of running(Sandlot)his way out of this coverage..You are correct on what a QB should do
However Me3 is not that kind of QB..
He hates the pocket, cannot process fast, doesn't do audibles or pass to short unless it's a shovel to RB.
Seam route would work when he can see it but that means moving out for him to do it by that time he's
usually taken too long and sacked.
This why the his legs being gone are a big deal..That was his his game without that he's become even more limited.
You will still see a nice deep ball occasionally if a team like the Jags is stupid not to use cover 2 high
but even his deep ball is starting to go(arm) I've been observing him under throw since last season
before the injury and that's why I've been saying he is aging faster than typical.
Then again he played lots of baseball and has thrown tons over the years so maybe the arm is starting
to say it's had enough.

There are a lot of things about #3 that are hard to understand. Not sure if you have checked the Broncos forums, but they can be pretty brutal.

Ya like this

“The Children's hospital thing is a great example of the difference between Peyton and Russ and why Peyton was so beloved around the league and by fans in general. Peyton also went to children's hospitals all the time and you literally never heard about it. He did it because it was the right thing to do, not for the public attention. You always know when Russ goes to one because he makes sure everyone hears about it. Even though Peyton was in a ton of commercials and stuff, he never felt like a guy who made it about himself and played the game for personal gratification. When he got washed up here, he adapted his game and leaned more on the running game and defense. He didn't insist on "cooking" and throwing the ball all over the field when he clearly couldn't anymore. And he totally accepted the backup role to Brock for the brief time he had to do it.

“I don't think it's a big mystery why everyone who has played with or coached Peyton only ever has the most glowing things to say about him and Russ' ex teammates and coaches trip over each other to see who can throw him further under the bus. Russ is a guy who publicly always talks about how much winning means to him but his actual actions are about himself. Peyton's actions actually backed up his words.”

I have watched many QBs that play sandlot football and those that adapted as they became older still had some in the tank. The problem is Wilson's ego is preventing him from adapting to his current reality.

Wilson is capable of being a positive contributor for the Broncos but like I have said many times before it is up to him to make the changes necessary. Physically Wilson may not be what he was as rookie coming into the league. But mentally he is simply checked out based on his mental errors I am seeing this year.
And he's run out of Coaches to blame for his insistence of doing sh*t HIS WAY.
Schottenheimer could not get him to transition, Waldron? NOPE! it's pretty damned clear that Pete Carroll had been covering for Wilson, only Wilson and a plethora of HIS fans are still hanging onto the myth.
I still love the guy, but RW is turning into a Coach Killer....I'll be amazed if Hackett doesn't get the axe before seasons end.

I think the issue with wilson is fixable but he has to have the right coach. I would bench his ass and play who ever the second string Qb is until russ loses his bs ego. He needs tough love... i would fire Hackett . The only reason why is because i would hire a vet coach like Sean Peyton thats the only option denver has

I was a Wilson homer, and still am to some extend, although I did advocated to trade him in 2020 and 2021. I did not foresee Wilson's performance will drop off so drastically, which was ably predicted by @keasley45, he's da man. Here are a few observation:

  1. Weight:
Wilson was 206lbs at combine, look at this recent pic, would you said he is more like 230? Muffin top and beer gut, and he's only 33, I have less of those at double his age. OK less muscle also lol, but I am a golf playing retiree, not a professional athlete.

For someone whose game rely on speed and athleticism, and someone who has his own full time chef, nutritionist, and trainer, how did this weight gain happen?
  2. Pimples:
Ciara was photo squeezing pimples for Wilson, he is not 16, he is 33 years old. Was this an one off or regular problem? A 33 yo athlete with constant pimple problem could led to all kinds of speculations, Barry Bonds was known for his pimple problems, just saying.

  3. Finger
Wilson's throws lost a lot of accuracies, especially in second half of ball games, it's impossible that he suddenly forgot how to throw a football, so something is bothering him. Could it be that he rushed back too early last season and did some lasting damage to his finger? Whatever it's, his throws are different.
The first two pictures tell me he is not putting the work into it

Russell has never been good a quick throws.

Why?After a decade it's still "He needs" "He has to have" "He wants" "He is" I mean it's always
something with Me3..What does he do?What is his job? What are they paying him for?
To be a king?

indy, a Larger contrast couldn’t exist between Our last qb and our present one.

Geno…

Takes public accountability. He straight up tells you how he messed up. He, not ”we.” And takes direction from the coach.

Low emotional maintenance. I bet Geno welcomes a “you f…g suck” when he gets intercepted at practice so he can fix whatever flaw allowed that.

Not shilling himself. As opposed to Russ there whose wilsonFamily Twitter released an ad of them getting sexual? All I could think of was does that stank get more ferocious with a loss?

Well i dont know exactly what to say about that. Paying him to be king?

I just think Russ is lost with in him self.

At some point he has to hit bottom then there is only one direction to go.

Despite all of his issues he has had success in the NFL he does have talent. So the question remains how does he refocus and move forward through all of this adversity?

I dont have those answers but i know who does... Pete Carroll. I believe Wilson can turn things around..

That one direction he has to go very well may be "Out the door"!!

It might be...i dont know but like i said before it just takes the right coach and the right set of circumstance... i dont think he will turn things around this year. Just my opinion that i believe he will eventually turn it around.

Well, today he is playing very well doing basically everything we wanted/needed him to do here but he pretty much refused because he knew better.

Playing on-time, has play chart on his wrist, very little deep shots, playing under center... the exact opposite of what he's been doing the past few years.

Will he be able to keep this up if the game gets tight and the pressure is on?

We'll see but right now somebody seems to have gotten in his head that, no, you don't actually know the best way to run an offense so stop freelancing and listen to your OC.

I honestly couldn't tell the difference.

First half of games Broncos look competent. Defenses make adjustments at half time and the Broncos offense looks lost in the 2nd half.

He’s toast

Got away with the lack of ability to read coverage through his mobility. It’s gone and now he’s just not good anymore.

Thanks for the picks, hope we end up with Will Anderson.
