He was literally their most productive back. If CMC gets hurt they are screwed. Wow this is another head scratch move by John Lynch. The bust drafter lol

Really not complicated.

Wilson was never supposed to be the starter AND he has a similar injury history as the rest.

1) CMC.
2) Expiring contract. Wouldn't be back next year.
3) Elijah Mitchell returning after the bye.
4) They like their 3rd rounder, Tyrion Davis-Price.
5) They like their UDFA (what Wilson was initially) Jordan Mason.
6) They still have Tevin Coleman on the PS.
7) They just traded an UDFA RB for a 5th round pick.

Not that complicated.

Right. Really screwed if CMC hurt.

Its not like their leading rusher last year won't be back soon. Oh wait...

John Lynch is the GM for a reason and probably knows a lot more about his running backs than what folks from the Shire might think.
Is that what you quoted when he traded up for Reuben Foster?

FIFY... less childish.
However, CMC is known to be injury prone so... with that being said, it's not that far out of the equation to think. Who else does the 49ers have if CMC does go down?

Jeff Wilson is a freak. This is a brilliant move by Miami. That Dolphin offense is quick

The 49ers have no trouble offloading their backs to other teams in trades. On the other side, the Rams can't pay teams enough to take one of theirs 😁

i don't think lynch has done a bad job overall. but that doesn't negate the fact he's made some poor choices. he recently threw away (4) 1sts and a 3rd on busts like trey lance on javon kinlaw...

probably knows a lot more about his running backs than what folks from the Shire might think.
...and he drafted trey sermon (just traded) in the 3rd and tyrion davis-price also in the 3rd, who've done nothing thus far. both washed 3rd round picks.

the 49ers gm/coach combo have a losing record for the 49ers organization, and the cmc trade screams last-second desperation. 49ers can't afford to miss the playoffs. the 49ers gm/coach are on the hot-seat, buckaroo

Seriously?

Jeff Wilson was about the be RB3 on the 49ers and wouldn't have been resigned next year. No insult to the man, but the 49ers best RB last year is just about to come back from injury and they still have three more guys behind him.

Just...what?

So much wrong and Seahawk homeristic hope in that message. LOL.

1) We don't know about Lance or Kinlaw yet. Kinlaw concerns me most because he can't keep that knee healthy, but when he's played he's played well. Any commentary on Lance is way premature. I mean hell, your own 32 year old QB was written off as a bust by several teams with ALOT more starts than Lance has had. Jeez. "Bust" after 4 NFL starts. Wow.

2) Yes, 49ers drafted Trey Sermon and then let him go. Did the same with Joe Williams. Its not that they don't make mistakes. What they don't due is compound the mistake by sticking to it when its clearly not working. Yeah, Trey Sermon didn't work. Elijah Mitchell sure did in the same draft. As for TDP, we don't know yet. Dudes a rookie behind several solid backs.

3) Losing record is a tough thing to overcome when you start 0-10 and lose your starting QB in 3 of 5 seasons. Hot seat? In your dreams.

who's "we"? by "we", do you mean you? i'm 99% certain trey is a bust. unless lance plays at an all pro level the remainder of his contract or he leads 49ers to a superbowl victory, he ain't living up to (3) 1sts + a 3rd anyway. that's the capital you pay for an established top 5 qb. and kinlaw? please. already a total bust.

exactly. lynch make mistakes. read what i was responding to.

hilarious when you get your panties in a bunch, total deflection.

Yeah seriously lol Why would I know they're not my team and I don't follow them outside of what I read here in the forums. And I wouldn't have a reason too.

Its Marvin the minute the 49ers are relevant in any way shape or form he embodies the 9er faithful and the quest for 6 some shit lol so as like most fans of their team he defends them and will fall on the sword.
