I'm taking over, too, not necessarily because I think the Hawks are under rated or playoff bound, but simply because it's easier to win 6 games than it is to lose 12.

We're gonna play .500 ball this year - as least that's what I've been expecting.

We're also gonna catch a few breaks - we're not prima donnas now, and we're not as much on the ref's radar.

9 wins for my estimate. Take the over.

I won't put too much weight on our overall record, but do like to see a stronger second half of the season, especially expect the team to finish strong. We could go 2-7 then 4-4 with most of those 4 wins towards the end of the season.

I expect teething problems with our OL, new tackles and center, switching to zone schemes and all. I also expect teething problems with our Defense, switching to 3-4 and new CBs. But expect the team to get familiar with new system as the season advances, I would like it if we win 3 out of last 4 games to finish the season.

It's a difficult choice, so I'm thinking the line is about where it should be. Think I'd take the over; Pete can still push a team to the finish line on occasion.

I'd go with the over. I think we could sweep SF and AZ and pick up 3 or 4 more wins if we are a top 5 run game and our defense takes a big step forward.

I'll take the Over all day. there's no way Seattle doesn't win 7+ games this season, IMO. Even under 2 massive rebuilding years Seattle has hit 7 wins. This roster is significantly better off than the 2010 and 2011 squads, where they made countless transactions trying to improve the roster at every position. Lastly, if you analyze last year 5 games were decided by 3 points or less ALL of which Seattle lost. that kind of "luck" is unlikely to continue -statistically speaking.

7 wins. Not expecting anything, won't bother me if we do worse, it might actually be better for us. I can see us getting lucky with a timely injury or something (ie some key starter is out for an opponent, not cheering an injury in a game) that gets us another 1-2 wins.

Not a playoff team. But not a bottom feeder. 7 feels reasonable and rational to expect though maybe as low as six, I doubt 5 or below is in the cards.

The line for the Seahawks win this upcoming season, in Vegas, is 5 1/2 wins. Shows what a the consensus is on this football team without a QB. I'm not a gambling man and I don't forsee a great season, but that's a bet I would definitely think about taking... I think this can be a 6 win team.

What would you guys take?
I would bet 1K on over.

This team is extreamly underrated.
I agree with you. Along those lines I think Pete's style is completely misunderstood. If our offense can execute Pete's vision, we will be fine. Yes Pete wants to run the ball, and yes Pete wants the big splash plays, but he also wants the O to play the short and middle passing game. Pete wants to be able to force the opposing defense to defend the entire field, something that virtually every other coach wants to do.

That line will go up 1 or 2 wins after we sign free agent Baker Mayfield on a veteran minimum prove it deal. Put your money down now.

I'd take the under... right at 5. Not a good team. Not a disastrous team, but not sure we're going to muster up enough on offense for this defense to contain.

Baker Mayfield is extremely underrated and overlooked. He literally carried the Cleveland Browns to the NFC divisionals.

[I'll assume you meant AFC, because the Browns aren't in the NFC, and that you were talking about 2020, not 2021, because the Browns didn't make the AFC wildcard round in 2021, much less the divisional]

So he literally carried the whole team to the game in the divisional round?
Really? He must be unbelievably strong. An NFL roster has 53 men (52 when you subtract Mayfield), and the average weight of an NFL player is between 245 and 246 pounds. So you're saying either that he picked up all 52 at once, a total weight of about 12,750 pounds, and carried that weight all the way from Cleveland to KC, or he carried them in smaller bunches and made multiple trips between Cleveland and KC, carrying one or more football players on the toward-KC half of each trip. Either way, it's gotta be the greatest athletic feat in the history of humanity.
