Especially if its a rebuild season. Two names already come to mind. The player with two letter initials and the guy that Pete traded the farm for. Might be a losing season but I think this season might be entertaining enough to glue me in on Seahawk football.
If they start squawking, that would mean that they are/were not ALL INN so--> send their a$$es to the Siberian Husky porkers to play & collect a paycheck.
ENOUGH of this childish horse-$h*t.
It's like STEP UP OR SHUT UP.
That means, IF you're $till on the ro$ter, the folk$ at the top have $hown their belief in you, and that they have your back, so NOW is the time to prove your worth, or quit & go home. :141847_bnono:

Russell Wilson after getting destroyed by the AFC West defensive ends. Boss, Chandler Jones, Khalil Mack, Max Crosby, Frank Clark etc…

No denying I'm a disgruntled fan.

But here's the thing… There are millions of us, and we're only going to grow larger once the real games start.

And I'm totally cool with being wrong, and eating all the crow. I've been wanting to eat crow for years. I usually end up being right, though.

You once graded Frank Clark as an unsuccessful pick despite Seattle milking his most productive years before trading him for about 3 times the value of his original draft slot.

Mhm.

DK could go full diva.

Or Lock could get him the ball when he's wide open underneath and let him make the play after the catch.

Yep, that would be "Put Up Or Shut Up" time, I mean Hell, MEGATRON did it in Detroit of all places, eh?
Y'all want to TALK being one of the best??, or PROVE that you're one of the best?

We are probably stuck with Carroll shuffling out there mumbling incoherently after losses until he is drooling and wetting himself on the sidelines.

Disgruntled is the wrong word.

If we had Wilson, we could attract a new coach. Some of the top coaches in the league, for the same reason Aaron Rodgers can attract top coaches. Because he is Aaron Freaking Rodgers.

But we don't. And nobody is going to want to coach a stripped-down losing team with Jason Lock and Geno Smith at your QB (Jason Lock, David Lock, whatever his name is).

Ultimately, if the past 2 years does not give you perspective little will. It is disappointing we are no longer a good team but it won't be devastating to watch us become the Lions. We aren't dealing with adversity, we lost some entertainment.

I'm more concerned with the terrible things happening in Ukraine than worried about our team. This is an escape. A diversion, but we did lose opportunities.

I won't be disgruntled, just disappointed and anxious to somehow recover from this mess that Carroll is making.

You live in a "Far out there" dip-rod "Make Believe World", but that's nothing new

I guess I was given some on here to much credit. I really thought that seeing what happens to a franchise when you pay 22-23% of your total cap to your QB does. Do you think Russ would have given us a home town discount? Or do you think he demands top dollar? I guess we will see in a year or two. But if you ask me, over paying one and under paying the rest is how a team become disgruntled.

Yup. It took less than 24 hours for GB to learn that lesson in 2022.

The best example of NOT overpaying was the situation with Brady in NE all those superbowl years. A good bit of the reason they were able to continually field teams that were 'talented enough' was because Brady was never paid like best qb in the league.

The Hawks would have seen no such compromise.

Bad QB play on a bad team in the last year of his rookie deal, dude's gonna be throwing tantrums like they were going out of style.

As much as people think players care about winning and intangibles it's still 95% about the money. If DK is unhappy it will be because the extension talks aren't going well, not because of what happens on the football field.

Mhm.

Where he made 3 probowls and 2 superbowls with the Chiefs? It was unsuccessful due to dragging their feet on his contract. If they sign him around when Danielle Hunter got paid (same draft class) things would've been fine. The value acquired was then flushed. Trading down and out of the deepest DE draft in years, ending up with LJ Collier. Not my fault you don't get it.

Oh make no mistake about it, the 2022 season is going to be FUN! No, not fun in the "Wow we are kicking ass and taking names" definition of fun but the "Get out the popcorn, lower your expectations, and see what this new squad can string together" kind of fun. Stress levels will be reduced on gameday since my expectations will be lowered. I can just relax and take in the growth process and new era and see how it all transpires. RELAX 12's! Enjoy the ride! We've been quite spoiled the past decade.

Think this is where I am on the upcoming season too. Kinda like Pete’s first year where games 1 - 3 were spent with google close to hand, as we got to know who was out there on the field. Looking forward to that part, it will be fun!

Disgruntled players will make themselves known. It happens, it’s how the coaches, Front Office (and hopefully team leaders) deal with it that counts, not the initial outbursts.

I don't see anyone being disgruntled.

Lock will get DK the ball, the team will return to winning bigly, and Carroll will get the ship back on course.

Well - it's simplistic - but this is pretty much what I'm hoping for. At least between the two of those on offense. I have to say, I don't think DK is different than any receiver - and seeing him bark that he was open to our quarterback formerly known as Russ for the last games of last season -

Well, if Lock can 'try' to get him the ball - I think DK will be fine. I think there was a real problem between DK and Russ last year.

ANYWAYS. To answer the original question: Potential DK. Get him the ball and he'll be fine. I really think that.

The rest? I don't see anyone disgruntled. There's enough heads on pikes at the front gate at this point - I think that honestly - this will be a 'shut up and make my numbers' kinda prove-it-type year for everyone.

I kinda know employees - they don't bitch when 1/2 the place has been fired recently. Some of them may piss in the coffee maker - but the remaining people usually don't quit ;) Obviously that's a generalization.

Still waiting for that clip where Russell days, "Go Donks!"

With Russell gone, I'm having a hard time thinking of any disgruntled players. If a lot of the lesser-paid guys are overperforming their contracts and the Hawks are winning like 2012-14, sure, there will be lots of guys after bigger deal$.

To me, this next season has kind of a 2011-run-it-back vibe to it. That was TJack's last year as a starter, before Russell, and you could see the transition from Holmgren's "Finesse" Hawks to Carroll's "Smashmouth" Hawks. Beating the SB champs from the year before, and the SB champs to be, the Giants and Ravens, that was the year we knew these were not your father's Seahawks.

What I always think of as the coming-of-age game for Carroll's Seahawks, in the Meadowlands, where Giants had the ball at the Seattle 10, and Eli was about to lead the Giants to a late, game-winning TD, per the script. After all, Seattle had lost 8 straight Eastern Time Zone early games. Then Kam tips a ball to Brandon Browner who goes about 94 yards the other way for a pick-6, putting the Hawks up by 2 scores, as the NY announcers watched in shock and had to fumble for words. Heck, even Clipboard Jesus had a nice TD pass that game after TJack got sidelined with a shoulder injury.

This season, I think Carroll and the Hawks get back to *real* Pete-ball, adjusted for NFL rule changes, with a strong D, good running game, and a CHEAP game-manager QB. I think we're around .500 and maybe even a wildcard if Lock or other QB exceeds expectations. The disgruntledness doesn't really start until the team's been WINNING with tons of players over-performing their contracts.

Yup. This This This.

Good take on it. I too have a 2012 redux spinning in my head. Obviously PC won't know which players to 'acquire' from his USC days - but who cares. Stick Lock in there. Go 500. Figure it all out for next year, and have fun in 2022. We're not going to the owl, even with a 75 MM quarterback.
