Just said on NFL Insiders

Also said the team is holding out hope he will be able to play in the playoffs.

So there's that.

I'll believe it when I see it, and believe me, I'd love to see it. But until then Harvin's dead to me.

This is what I thought would happen (if true).

Not because I expect him to play (I don't), but because this is what gives the team the most cap flexibility in 2014 and beyond. I really hope he can make it back, though.

I have a feeling that this injury is career-ending.

He's like our super secret weapon.....

So secret, so super, he might not even be real. But just maybe... 8)

So here's one of 'those' posts, through a family member's friend who knows the doctor harvin saw, apparently the doc was absolutely pissed, livid, enraged that percy played against minnesota. So yeah, definitely one of those posts, but if true that sounds like he needed surgery, but was really really stupid to play on it.

If true this tells us two things:

1. Harvin can play on the hip, because he still looked explosive even with the hip still being sore and tender.
2. Harvin was selfish in trying to come back against his old team, as opposed to waiting until he was much stronger later in the season.

I'm all for being motivated to stick it up your old team's ass, but not at the selfish expense of the bigger picture.

sorry but I don't look at Harvin as selfish to play against Minn. All players want to come back and play. it's up to the coaches and doctors to put them in or not.

RG3 wanted to play against us in the playoffs when Shanahan should have sat him down. Don't blame RG3 for being selfish - blame Shanahan.

Same here.

Why does every single Harvin thread bring out the worst in some of our .Netters? A uterus joke? Speculating his career is over?

How does this affect our cap flexibility?

In both cases though the doctors and trainers don't always have the answer, all they can advise is whether the injury will get worse playing on it. In both cases I think Shanahan and Carroll were taking the word of the player...........and in both cases the player says "I'm good to go."

So obviously Percy said he felt good enough to play AND the doctors and trainers said he was OK to play. Now he's not? idk, I'm just tired of it. Now we have 2-5 more weeks of this nonsense of will he or won't he play.

I thought his doctor cleared him to play?

because most players that have this type of injury that are out for this long is either

1) career ending
2) Is never the same again

I dont know if its either, so who knows

Well, we know the team doctors obviously did, not what I heard in regards to this specialist that performed the surgery. Incredibly easy to speculate here of course.

His 2014 salary becomes fully guaranteed if he's injured (i.e. placed on season-ending IR).

These Harvin threads crack me up.

Does anyone believe that PC/JS would spend that much on a guy who wasn't a baller?

I realize most of you would be able to play pro football on two broken legs...you'd just scoot along on your knees; but alack and alas, Percy's just not as tough as you guys.
