We got his best years..didnt give him the big contract in his declining years. Broncos are seeing the best out of Wilson right now...in 3 years his contract will be a disaster for that team.

I agree completely. The media has over hyped the Broncos. They were getting power rankings between #8 and #12 even after they lost their opener. The Broncos fans' expectations have been grossly inflated as they were a 7-10 team last season and didn't make any significant additions outside of Russell, so they're expecting him and Hackett to be the answer to the woes they've suffered ever since Manning retired.

If they don't go deep into the playoffs, they're going to be out for blood. That trade didn't come with a packet of "get out of jail free" cards. If they finish 5-12 or worse, Hackett might be one and done like Josh McDaniel.

It was inevitable that we give Russ that fat contract. He was too much of a fan favorite and it would have been the end of Pete if they hadnt. Luckily Russ exposed himself last year.

Going by fan favorite is never the recipe to win Championships.
We don't see what the coaches and players do outside of the game.
It's obvious now Pete gambled with Russ and obviously he lost on doing it.

Pete is above Mikes level but yeah overpaying AR has cost GB more chances at SB's.
Just like it did with Russ who isn't anywhere near AR's level.
