What do you think about Mike Holmgren as Coach...

I think that Mike would be a perfect fit for the Hawks..he can teach RW the west coast offense. I am not sure how old mike is? Holmgren would make Wilson cook for sure :2thumbs:

I am pretty sure we could get him to sign a reasonable contract. What do you guys think?

I love me some Holmgren. Now, I get homerism.....I'm guilty myself at times...

But seriously?

He's got one Superbowl win. One.

You can get to three with other coaches really fast...

Walsh
Belichick
Noll
Shula
Landry
Lombardi
Stram
Parcells
M. Lewis

I'd say arguably top ten. Solidly top 15.

Great coach though, showed my Seahawks the door to relevance so I'm forever grateful.

Also..

I think there's probably a very good reason for his NOT coaching for the last 13 years.

Smart, if you replace one over-the-hill coach that can't adapt with another the transition should be smooth.

Holmgren would be an awful replacement for PC. Holmgren was a great coach, but he coached in a much different era in the NFL. Holmgren even said himself that he didn't want to coach anymore because he thought the game was passing him by.

The biggest issue with Holmgren is he was an awful GM and he didn't always play nice with his GMs.

If we moved on from PC it would have to be someone completely different, perhaps a Doug Pederson character.

Love Holmgren....more so than Pete for sure!

That said, his day has come and gone and he is enjoying life after football so forget about it not happening.

What do I think of Mike Holmgren as a coach? I enjoyed his time as the Seahawks coach. BTW, Holmgren is 73 and has been retired for many years now. SMH!

Time eventually passes us all by.

Holmgren doesn't have 10% of the energy of Pete and while once a great coach I very much doubt he could cut it now. He's older than Pete as well.

The palpable hate for Pete here has become ludicrous.

Even if he were 10-20 years younger and interested in the job, I wouldn't want him. As others have stated, I love the guy and am very appreciative of the excitement he brought our franchise, but by the time he left, the game had started to pass him by. His offense and play calling was as predictable as our defense is now. I got so damn tired seeing 3rd and 12 draw plays that I could puke.

I don't think many people, even his detractors, hate Pete.

I'd rather have Doug Peterson if Carroll isn't the coach next year... Knowing my luck Norton Jr. would be elevate much like Mora Jr. was.

Mike Holmgren was a great coach no doubt, but if we're swinging for the fences, I'd rather have Coach Lombardi

Holmgren said once that a coach should only really stay with a team for about 5 years and then move on because it gets stale. I know thats not really realistic, but its probably true.
