After watching the Mic'd Up video with Sherman, I'd say that was more than a shove...don't really like the commentary in the article...

If you punch a player in the face after a playoff game: $7,875 and if you are wearing the wrong color socks on the field: $20,000.

It all makes sense to me

Embarrassing. Also, the writer of the linked piece clearly hadn't seen the video or perceived the situation in its totality. Some of y'all twitter people should let him know...

If he punches someone that didn't beat a PED charge, the fine is higher :|

ridiculous.. and that guy really hit sherm hard too.. the initial footage they showed everywhere doesn't reveal like the mic'd up sherman version does.

no suspension? screw the fine, he should be forced to miss a game or two, and miss those game checks... NFL better nip this crap in the bud, before you have all out fights on the field.. 8 grand is nothing to a player..

What a random amount for a fine.

I'm pretty sure the fine is structured in an agreement with the Players Association. The amount of the fine is dependent on what the transgression was, and if it was a first, second, third offense, etc.

And I think it's some sort of percentage of something or other, hence the weird looking number. Probably works out to be 5% of his lunch money or something.

Fine for touching QB while already in the air. $15,000

Blatantly punching someone in the mouth: Half that.

A big double bird to the NFL. Hypocrites.
