Yup. Tomorrow. He can still be inactive but has to be on 53

Which means a roster cut or IR is coming for someone else on the 53.

I'm pretty sure it's next Tuesday that is the deadline, isn't it?

It's next Tuesday. He came back on Oct 22 and has 3 weeks.
Okay cool. They'll probably take the whole three weeks before activating.

We'll know by Friday if he will play in Atlanta....otherwise we'll hear on the 12th. Now, whether he plays against the Viks remains an unknown.

No, "This Tuesday" is tomorrow. "Next Tuesday" is the 12th.

In baseball, who's the next batter up? The next hole on the golf course? Next man up when a starter goes down on the football team? "Next" means the first one yet to come. Tuesday's not here yet.

Next Tuesday is the next one we will see, and it starts in our time zone in less than two hours. 8)

Doesn't matter what it means in other contexts when people use it with a different meaning in this context.

I love differences in how people refer to their days of the week. Personally, whenever I say "next" Tuesday (for example), I am referring to the Tuesday after the upcoming one. So today is Monday the 4th. Next Tuesday (or another way to look @ it would be the Tuesday of next week) would be the 12th. "This" Tuesday would be tomorrow, the 5th.

I don't know, that's the way I use the terms "next" and "this" when referring to the days of the week. It's the way I learned, and I know it's the same for many, if not most people.

Anyways, to stay on topic, we approaching the activation of Percy Harvin, be it THIS or NEXT Tuesday. I'm getting pumped at the anticipation of seeing him on the field!

I know a lot of people do it that way. It's still wrong, is all I'm saying.

It's like when people say "jewelry" and pronounce it "jewlery", or they pronounce Realtor as "Realator". Wrong, but countless millions of people do it anyways because they get used to it.

I'm just glad that most people can agree on what it means when people say this vs. next [day]. I'll take that over the right way to say it. :)

I think there is a difference between "next" Tuesday and THE next Tuesday. Next Tuesday is a particular day, referring to the Tuesday after "this" Tuesday, unlike THE next Tuesday, which is simply the next Tuesday that happens to arrive. I don't know, I think it makes much more sense when you think of it in terms of "next" referring to "next week's Tuesday", instead of simply the next Tuesday.

This Tuesday is tomorrow, next Tuesday is a week from tomorrow. What planet were you people raised on? It doesn't matter what "next" means in baseball or any other context.

What date does Harvin have to be activated on?
