I absolutely hated that we passed on Chandler Jones to take Irvin. I really liked Irvin, but I thought he was a 2nd round prospect. I thought Chandler Jones would have been a perfect fit on our D.
Through last year, it looked like Irvin was going to be a situational player at best, while Jones was becoming a star player in New England. I was really disappointed.
So I have watched Irvin closely this year, and I am so happy about the progress he has made. Not only has he become an every down player that can help us at 2 positions, but I now believe we made the right choice selecting him over Jones.
Irvin has become a really good player and he's still getting better. So happy for our Front Office and their ability to not only evaluate talent, but have the patience and creativity to help that talent thrive.
