I'm sure it's been explained multiple times

But what happens if we lose tomorrow and then beat the 49ers next week. Who wins the division and why? Based on what tiebreaker?

The Seahawks would win the division based on head to head against the 49ers

It's 11:45 p.m. on the East coast. What seemed like an obvious answer apparently wasn't because I'm exhausted. Thanks and Goodnight gents

Here is the straight skinny. When it comes to winning the division, tomorrow's game is completely irrelevant. The entire NFC West comes down to who wins in week 17. If Seattle wins tomorrow (as we should), then Seattle improves to 11-3 and takes back the #1 seed for the time being. This helps Seattle's prospects for a first week bye, but doesn't help with the division. Why? Because if San Fran beats Seattle next week, they would have the better record and thus the division (13-3 vs 12-4). If Seattle loses, however, but beats San Fran in week 17, then both teams would be tied at 12-4, but Seattle would have a 2-0 head to head tie break over San Fran. Also if Seattle and San Fran tie in week 17, then Seattle wins the division IF we win tomorrow (otherwise San Fran gets it by a better record). That is the only way division-wise that tomorrow's game matters. If we win tomorrow, all Seattle has to do is tie to win the division.

Essentially when it comes to the division, Seattle is almost completely insulated from the rest of the NFL.

Tomorrow only matters if we also beat the 49ers

Then it matters to help us get the No 1 or 2 seed

Losing tomorrow hurts that but, if we lose to 49ers it doesn't matter as much what we do tomorrow. It could I guess be difference between 5 and 6 seed

We would need GB and NO to also win out for us to get the NO. 1 seed.

Which is kinda cool. The best individual outcome for the Hawks, GB, and NO is that they all win out. And yet in that scenario, it’s the Hawks who get the top seed.

If the Saints lose but GB win out I think we win tiebreaker

This is also correct.
