Did he pass the team doctors tests? If so, what did the independent doctor find that the team doctor didn't discover.

Sounds like he failed tests Wednesday, Thursday and likely again today.

It's an awesome time to be an offensive player in the NFL. I think it's fantastic the league is finally taking better care of the players. Though guys like Easley and Lott could never play in this era, I mean that sincerely.

I also think, with the job now safer than ever, there's no reason for these ridiculous contracts any longer. Top QBs should never make more than 10 mil per year and the best WRs and backs no more than 5 million. With that, ticket prices to games should also be cut in half so the American family can again attend a football game without having to sell the Winnebago.

The contracts have little or nothing to do with how dangerous the sport is. It has to be the fact that there is a market for talent and talent is limited. The difference between having Tom Brady as your QB from Matt Schaub is huge.

By the way Easley and Lott could still play this game. They were fast and talented and smart ball players who were physically imposing. Those skills are still valued in the modern day NFL.

Let's just get rid of the helmets altogether....Problem Solved!
:sarcasm_off:

You say that sarcastically, but truthfully I believe all the helmets and extra padding make players feel more invincible. If they didn't have them I would bet you'd see a LOT fewer HUGE hits and MUCH less spearing

This is actually a huge fallacy. Teddy Roosevelt nearly banned football because it lead to more than 50 deaths in the early 1900s.

This is one of the most idiotic threads I remember reading through. Whoever think they know what is going on with Percy's BRAIN because of how he reacted moments after a hit are delusional. Those thinking it's a conspiracy are delusional. those blaming Percy for being weak or soft are delusional. Those comparing him to 49er concussion returns this season are delusional.

Seriously, grow up people. It's okay to be sad that Percy is out for this game without responding like such an idiot....

We have more fans now than ever before. Our gear is flying off the shelves at record numbers. Russell Wilson is the most marketable player in the league in a lot of areas. To "let" this team become a winner only generates more revenue for the NFL and gives them yet another team to claim a cash cow.

Why in the holy hell would they purposely keep this team down at a time where the money will start rolling in for years and years?... Let's let this die.

Well we are the most penalized team in the entire NFL there's always that...

We also got blatantly robbed in our last Super Bowl.

Fairly sure the 49ers would be more profitable for the NFL as a whole. Seahawks fans will support the team no matter what since we are used to losing. If the 49ers get their butts kicked you can be sure not as many people will be driving down to that new stadium at the start of next season.

I would be absolutely shocked to see the game be called neutral. The refs are going to do everything in their power to offset our homefield advantage and make the game as close as possible. Most likely they will be reffing like the 49ers need to win.

For some reason the media is just obsessed with the 49ers and that kinda shows they want them in the Super Bowl.

And everyone who thinks I'm over reacting I want you to take a good hard look at Pete Carrol's face in the interview yesterday and tell me he doesn't look like a guy who just got totally screwed by this "independent" concussion specialist. He looks like he just got some really bad news that he wasn't counting on.

And I'm not underselling our other players by being upset about this. But it really does seem like our whole game plan this year was expecting to have Harvin. We had Turbin returning kick offs I think that tells you all you need to know about our preparation to not have Harvin ready.

Our passing offense is downright horrible without a guy like Harvin we looked like a completely different team in the first half last week than we have for many weeks. Certainly it didn't help losing Sydney Rice too :(

Are you even a Seahawks fan? Turbin was returning kicks because Kearse got the fumbalitis and then got concussed.

Sheesh, guys. The NFL and NFLPA are doing something right for a change, but we still have to create some sort of conspiracy theory just because we can't have Percy for the next game?

This thread is incredibly ridiculous. I wish the league was even MORE aggressive about monitoring for potential concussion-causing impacts. A perfect example is when Russell's head bounced off of the frozen turf in the Giants game. Nobody examined him because he wasn't body slammed from 6' in the air, but the impact still looked significant. Russ and many other players are so mentally tough they would probably never self report, which worries me at times.

He had two concussion type blows in the same game. The one that knocked him out of the game had him completely woozy. It is no surprise to me that he can't play. Frankly, we might be better off without him. Niners would have been gunning for him had he played, and who knows how long he would have stayed in the game. At least this way, they know he isn't going to play and they can move on.

It's not even a conspiracy theory I'm pretty confident our team cleared him to play and this random "independent" concussion specialist who probably never even met Harvin previously said he wasn't ready. Harvin isn't that bright to begin with how can some random guy come in here and accurately asses his condition? Some people are always as slow as a smart person would be while concussed.

Kearse is a TERRIBLE punt returner too, his injury is no excuse for using Turbin. Clearly Harvin was the go to guy from the start.

Bevell has coached Harvin for entire seasons so they were probably counting on bringing in entire playbooks that he already had for Harvin. It seems like the whole season we've just been goofing around in the passing game waiting for Harvin to play so we can run our real offense. Now it's not going to happen in an extremely important game.

I'm not pleased, and I think acquiring Harvin was a huge mistake. We lost so much for our draft picks and salary cap it's downright crazy town.

Ultimately if we lose this game Harvin was the worst decision we ever could of made if you view this season separate from all others (our best chance to win super bowl ever in my opinion)....

Being a bit of a drama queen aren't we? We aren't losing this game and Percy will have his revenge in the Superbowl.

As far as conspiracy's go this has nothing to do with Harvin but last night (and airing today as well) Brian Baldinger and Sean O'hara did back to back segments on the NFL networks "playbook" show detailing how we cheat. They did one highlighting JR Sweezy's cut blocks and followed it up with the LOB's tight press coverage showing film they say were obvious PI's that went uncalled. Next they named the official's and showed tape where he hadn't called some of this in the past and made the conclusion that this championship game could hinge on whether or not that official (who they called out by name) allows Sweezy and the LOB to break the rules. The NFL owns that show and they might as well have had Harbaugh run the show.

Cut blocks are not illegal, although they probably should be.

yea but the point is that an NFL show is attempting to influence a particular official into calling the game in a different manor than he usually does which will favor our opposition.
