The renaissance of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith is in full bloom.

"Smith threw for 320 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Seahawks' 48-45 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Smith took home NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors, his first such accolade (and the second of his career) since Week 5 of his rookie year with the New York Jets when he was lauded as AFC Offensive Player of the Week. Smith's accuracy was once more a highlight as he completed 76.7% of his passes (23 of 30) and tallied three total touchdowns with a rushing score, as well."

Even those of us that were hopeful and gave him the benefit of the doubt never expected that he'd be IDd as the best player in the League at any time, under any circumstances, for any amount of time. He really deserves a lot of credit. (...and, to some degree, those that gave him the chance and support system)

Who thought they'd be contemplating a Geno Smith jersey purchase in July?

Complain all you want about Pete and crew, but what an amazing job of finding plays that work for Geno! When the whole place is a train wreck, they figured out what Geno can execute and called those plays.

I think Pete should get Coach of the week!

nicely done geYES. Keep it rolling and do this against really good defenses. I'll gladly continue to set up more Crow Recipes.
A Geno jersey after 4 games? Um.........nah.

Congratulations to Geno! I was cautiously optimistic for a team first QB, but never expected this level of play or acknowledgement from outside sources. I'm happy for him.

Finances permitting, I would purchase a Geno jersey. (At the moment though, I have to lean toward career wear because of changing jobs.)

Other than that DUI Geno had, all things seem to be great for Geno in Seattle.

Geno is also more successful this year than a QB who shall not be named!

Let’s go Geno!

If you know how he acted when it went down, I think you'd be surprised. But he's bounced back from it so that's a legit positive.

It would appear Geno is a good fit for Shane Waldron's offense. This kind of reminds me of Herb Brooks' line in Miracle, "I'm not looking for the best players, I'm looking for the right ones." Whether it's scheming to your players or finding players to match your scheme, it's all about fit. I hope that's the situation we're looking at with Geno.
