Remind me why this guy is the highest paid LB in the game??

Sure doesn’t play like it!

Pretty evident all season long, he is totally unworthy of his salary.

Trade this imposter moonlighting as the best inside linebacker in the league and his huge salary and cut his best friend KJ next year.

PC, this loss and losing the number one seed is all on you!

He actually had a couple nice plays in the first half today, which is something I couldn't say before last week's great INT.

Big salaries are as much about what they've done before as any future prospects. Having said that, nobody was doing much out there today. He can't do it all.

He was about the only one doing anything out there today. He made some great plays

He's lost a gear at a time when the game has switched more than ever to speedy specialists on jet sweeps. He's a mismatch for where the league is going.

All I see are a bunch of threads by Legendofboom wanting everyone to get the ax after one loss.

Wagner's playing on a sprained ankle. Hes not the reason for the loss today

Wagner looked slow today, and has looked slow several times this season. In particular on the 80 yard TD run, he looked like he didn't have the quickness needed. Sprained ankle? OK, fine. That would explain why he didn't pursue Kenyan Drake very hard on that 80 yard run; of course, if Lano Hill isn't fast enough, Bobby certainly wouldn't have any chance.

It seems like the Seahawks LBs, collectively, are not nearly as fast as they once were. Bobby and KJ have both lost a step, KJ didn't have the step to lose. Time to draft some more speedy young LBs.

Wagner is not the reason for the subpar defense and it is really stupid to think he is. He basically has to help our worthless pass coverage secondary and our subpar pass rush. This makes it hard for him to focus on what he does best.

Our pass coverage spent the entire first half, and good portions of the second, forcing Kyler Murray to sit on the pocket and wait for people to get open. Remember, any time the QB has to scramble, the secondary has succeeded. I'm hardly inclined to blame them.

Pass rush is injured.

Wagner was slow and out of position on a number of plays today. He's lost a step. You don't have to lose much of a step in order to be out of range of shoelace tackles; it's a game of inches, and the entire league is crawling with end-around specialists now. We need blinding speed back on this defense.

This ^^^^ His only problem is having to cover for other people being out of position often. It's easy to tell a player to just do their job, but in practice it's really tough see and know that people aren't gonna be where they're supposed to be and not try to make up for that. If Diggs was on the roster and healthy from camp, I think the LB's as a whole would look like what you'd expect them to.

Another thread that lowers my IQ by a few points so congrats on that.

Wagner is EASILY still one of the best LB's in football. Has he lost some 10ths off his 40? Hell yes. But the dude is still an absolute beast intellectually and he still leads the team in tackles. Sure, he may not be getting the highlight reel on ESPN or NFL Gameday but don't be so dismissive of someone who is still very much a factor and force out there for us.

Nobody's really arguing any of that stuff, OK, maybe the OP, for sure not me. Bobby's still got all the smarts and toughness and is the leader of our defense and a key team leader. He HAS lost a half step, or at least today it showed at times, possibly due to him still nursing a bum ankle. Just like Pete's best defenses have been based on having Earl Thomas deep, they have also been based on having WR-speedy LineBackers, guys like (young) Bobby Wagner, Darren Smith, Bruce Irvin, and a few other speedsters I can't think of right now. With KJ having also lost a step, we no longer have a speedy LB corps as a team strength.

We did draft Cody Barton, who has shown a lot of promise, and BBK, who also has wheels. We'll need to bring in at least one more speedy LB next year through FA/Draft. Of course, the light bulb might also go on in Sackquem's head for the LB stuff; he definitely fits the speed profile Pete loves in his LBs.

So the league leading tackler, team leading tackler, 4 time All pro and 6 time pro bowler isn't worth the money?

Overreact much?

Where was Wagner on Drake’s 80 yard TD?!

Nowhere to be found.

You’re telling me the offensive lineman got to Wagner and Wagner was unable to shed the block?!

A run of that many yards is inexcusable!

As Wagner is the “leader” of the defense, he should be held accountable.

I don’t know why you’re refusing to acknowledge that!

He has a point. He hasn't played well all season, outside of a game or two.

He is 1 of 11 guys on defense, but by all means put it all on him!

I love Bobby, but he has taken a step back this year. He is still really good, but not the same player we have been blessed to see.
