They've been doing this for several years now. CBS and FOX are allowed to switch off available games to allow the networks more options week in and week out.

Yeah the Eagles game last year was on CBS.

Hopefully it's not Nance and Romo, just my opinion there.

Good catch tho JSeahawks

NFL Week 5 in the L.A. TV market: Chargers shoved aside by Rams again on channel hierarchy

Last week, CBS had the NFL’s national doubleheader, but in L.A., Fox, which was only supposed to have a single game, had both the Chargers and Rams on their menu. And Fox then had to decide to dump the Chargers on sister station KCOP (Channel 13).

This week, it reverses, with even more give and take. But again, the Chargers have to give up the prime real estate again.

The Chargers shift on CBS’ KCAL-Channel 9 sister station Sunday to avoid a collision with the Rams’ game on KCBS-Channel 2. The Rams are on KCBS, even with the NFC Seahawks in town?

Yes, that’s another one of those network compromises to make up for last week, and Fox is happy to do it so it can carry a much better contest to the nation in the afternoon window.

To make it fair, Fox also gets to do a game up against the Chargers on CBS, who can’t catch a break even in the early window.

Normally FOX would have first rights to the GB @ Dallas game as the visiting teams primary network normally gets the job unless it's picked for SNF or MNF.

GO HAWKS!!!

Ya, cross-flexing was introduced for 2012 (https://www.si.com/nfl/2011/12/15/nfl-rightsdeal).

It's been useful for better matchups on Thanksgiving some years since CBS only has 2 games to pick from (since Cowboys and Lions are both NFC teams and have to play at home, only options without flexing are the two games when AFC teams are visiting).

No idea why this particular game was flexed though.
