I would take a flyer if the price is right. He was decent on the Browns (as decent as one can be on the Browns) and dropped off a bit with Lions. Still serviceable. I like the idea.

He had 10 sacks in 2022, 5.5 in 2023 and 9 (5/4) in 2024.

Don't we already have like five 10 sack guys on the pile? I guess as a depth/rotation guy, but I'm thinking why bother?

From the article it looks like he wants to stay in Detroit anyway. Sound like the Lions have cap room, they're just quibbling over the numbers.

I'm normally Luke warm to these "what about this guy" posts. I do however think Seattle is going to at some point need an actual pass rush specialist that can alter the life of Mr Stafford & Purdy. Even the ompa lumpa that plays in Arizona. ,

I think this will be the difference between us 12's celebrating or saying "wait until next season"

Big Cat had 11 sacks last season, no one else was even close. Taylor had 5.5 in 2023. Taylor had 9.5 in 2022. Dunlap had 8.5 in 2021. Point is we don't have a bunch of DEs that get big sack numbers. Z would definitely help.

Nah, Trey Hendrickson is coming to Seattle! Give it 1 week.
If I'm trading for someone, I think I'm going Thibodeaux and seeing what MM can do with him. Seems worth it though to see if Smith has something left in the tank. He is a former Raven who played while MM was there too... Could be something there.

Who would have the most overall positive effect on the game, a guy who might get a few more sacks that some of the guys you already have on your defense, or a proven effective vet RG who could make the difference for your entire offensive operation?
Yes.

But seriously, a little bit of both please.

They had opportunities to do just that, I also hoped they would, which makes me think they must be content with what they have.

And who is this effective vet RG again?

I wasn't paying attention (mostly focused on Hendrickson)....
