Part of this is also because of all the people that can't accept that people write anything negative about a team that is winning or players that in GENERAL are performing very well.

Example you post: RW overthrew a few guys on Sunday

Next post: YOU IDIOT HOW CAN YOU SAY RW SUCK

Next guy: YOU IDIOT THE SEAHAWKS ARE 4-1 SO TIRED OF YOU BANDWAGON FANS

so there is that part as well........IMHO

of course as we all know I stated above that everyone sucks and the team is falling apart

We are multitasking fans. We can appreciate being 4-1; we can also identify ways for the team to improve. Following our players' and coaches' leads, we have very high expectations. Nothing funny about that.

The problem is this team was so talented they had no business losing that game.

14 of Indy points came on 2 mistakes, one defensive one special teams.

Another 5 were stolen by the refs and we also lost 3 as part of the 14 I mentioned above.

Not counting the refs, that's a 17 point swing on two mistakes that never should have happened.

Add in the officiating, knocking off two of their scoring drives and add the 5 points we got jobbed on the safety. Probably easily add 3 if not 7 from the OPI call drive too.

We should have won that game, blown them out even.

Studies have proven Seattle fans to be "the most intelligent fans in football" (seriously, look it up). So, whatever you see going on in here, it's exactly the way it's supposed to be.

Note:
These findings apply ONLY to the fan base of the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Huskies. Coug, Duck and Beaver fans were excluded from the study (to prevent the score from plunging into the abyss).

Current Threads on the First Page of the message board:

Anyone else missin' the RRR?
Is Russell Wilson regressing?
Gotta say.....Michael Bowie is WAY overrated (this is my favorite FYI)
I am done with Sidney Rice
I hate losing.
Gumbel/Dierdorf this week (open it up to a post that just says "yuck")
And we complain about Bevell

It is actually pretty funny, and a little bit sad, how negative this board can be during what is easily the best time to be a fan in the history of this organization.

I have brought this up repeatedly. I don't want to discriminate, and I may be wrong, but I am of the opinion that it's the newer, or younger, fans that dive off the Hawk cliff so hastily.

This is now a world where if it's not instant...it's not gratification. Sports like boxing are dying off because of this new breed of fan, who prefer the instantaneous drama of MMA. Most people today want results, they want it now and most have little regard for the science it takes to get that end result. My advice to the younger generation would be to enjoy the journey. I've learned It's often better than the actual destination. Oh, and support boxing (please).

I wish some of you guys would leave AvengerRam alone. He's one of the "resident" Rams fans that has been around for years, and is welcomed. Hell, I like the guy. He's one of the few enemy fans that has learned to walk the tightrope between good fan and troll (and "troll" is not an appropriate term for him), but mainly he's just a good, knowledgeable football fan. We can start hating him (not really AR) again when the Rams become a serious concern around here in 1 to 3 years once all those draft picks they've hoarded come to fruition.

And to answer your question A.R. about the bitching 'round here due to one stupid road loss against a very good team... The media has built us up all off-season as this Super Bowl powerhouse with all this talent that is so deep you need a snorkel. Some people on here bought into all that and thought us unbeatable, which of course is horse crap. Only the '72 Dolphins went undefeated. Then you got the recent Patriots that took it all the way to the SB. Every Dynasty team, or just truly GREAT teams in the last 40 years have lost games during their legendary seasons. I see us going 13-3 or 14-2. That's AWESOME! And could very well happen, and should lead us to the SB with two glorious games at Century Link Field. But some fans (especially the young, not-yet-beaten-down Hawks fans) are freaking out because we lost a 10 am road game against a quality team, and we played 'em straight up! We could have easily won that game. That's a positive to me. It shows we can hang with anybody, anywhere. So, disregard the worrywarts. The hardened, long-time (meaning, OLD) fans are feeling pretty damn good about how this season is going, for the most part. Especially when we know there are many missing pieces coming back just in time for the stretch run... Good to see ya again A.R...

Actually compared to the kvetching that usually follows a loss around here (at least from what I could tell from years of lurking), the reaction seems to be pretty mild. Yeah we're 4-1 and yes we are positive about the outlook, but that doesn't mean we are blind to some serious issues that our team faces. Does that mean we'd trade places with the Rams? Not in your life! (No offense intended)
Yeah, I really haven't seen anything remarkably close to some of the meltdowns from last year (see: Miami). I was over this loss by the next day, but I still come here to discuss some of things we can improve on and whatnot. It only seems logical that most of the discussion following a loss would have a more negative tone.

Good post Avenger. As for the above quote, I was one of those that was pretty pissed about Miami. Detroit also. Those were games we should've won, that ultimately we not only gave away, but cost us the division title and a home playoff game. So yea, being pissed after an ugly loss is sometimes justified.

I think all of the posts are pretty good in this thread, and all hit on some of why we're negative. There's serious issues with the OL. Eventually, that can get your QB killed and tank your season.

Let me ask you a question Avenger: have you ever been to a fan website where there wasn't overreaction about ANY loss? Ever been to a site where fans were positive after a loss (for the majority)? Are any of the Rams sites positive after any loss ?

Ok, so how is anyone supposed to reply to this? Seems like the way you've set up the post is that you're right and more mature than anyone at .net no matter what the response is. If anyone dares disagree... you've already offered the lowly description of such folks.

You say your motivation was to not offend. If that were true, you would not have posted something that needed a disclaimer up front. You didn't have entirely pure motivations. We all do that (and I'm not convinced we do or say anything out of entirely pure motivations.) But, just be honest that there's a part of you that wanted to label everyone and you base your entire viewpoint on the worst reactions you can find with a sweeping generalization. So, what you're really doing is taking a veiled jab at Seahawks nation. Come on, be honest there AvengerRam.

Listen, every fan vents on some level. I can see some perhaps unnecessary gloom, but what do you expect? That fans of good teams like ours ought to just sing "When you're smiling" no matter how any game all season plays out?

Actually, my reaction to the premise of your post is much the same as you say - I had to shake my head and sort of laugh at fans like you coming in here with that. Come on, man.

Once this team wins it all... I'll probably lighten up a bit. I don't think I'm bent out of shape about one regular season loss, but I certainly don't like how it transpired. But, the Hawks play the Titans this week.

In response to the last few posts...

Thanks for the kind words...

Yes, Rams fans do the same thing. In fact, I've seen a lot of it this week after a win that wasn't "good enough."

No, this was not intended as a veiled jab at a Hawks fans, though I'm not shocked that some may take it that way.

Interesting. ..what flavor? I train and teach LimaLama, Muay Thai and boxing. BTW...The attorney comment was actually, in this context, meant as a compliment.

Yeah, it kind of was.

90% of your gimmick is passive-aggressive jabs (the ones you can say..."what, I didn't attack you...?" afterwards). And the other 10% is the limited knowledge of your team, the Rams.

Its okay, really. But, it's transparent.

You have me singing "True Colors" again.

I'm not going to try to convince you of anything, pehawk. You've clearly made up your mind.

I'm sure others here can make up their own mind as well.

My point (which I've made countless times to Rams fans) is that being a fan is supposed to be fun. As one who saw the GSOT come and go, my advice to you is this: enjoy this time. Some day, you'll long for a team with the '13 Hawks' "problems."

Sure Avenger. You're just here to talk ball, and you just randomly chose the first week the Seahawks lost to post more.

It doesn't matter, really. You do you, but it's transparent and kind of odd.
