I agree DK's route was hot garbage there - but It's also kind of weird that every wrong reciever route ends with a Geno INT.

I recall another game, where DK did a similar thing, turned his route upfield from where it should gave gone, gifting a pick to the other team.

Yeah. DK is not a good route runner. And now it's costing the team games.

It's because it's a timing thing. These are the things you do in a 2-minute drill. The advantage for the offense is that we can hit these spots before the defense knows what we're doing.

But it's also an exaggeration to say every INT is on that. The first INT wasn't.

Yeah but the coaches should know that and therefore not use him that way, no?
DK Brain fart, how can coaches predict which play it will be when DK goes off script? Coaches trusted him to do the called route, maybe DK thought he could out-and-up, but it's foolish because Geno getting no time to throw.

I mean, you don't even want Geno taking time unless he has to. It's a 2-minute drill.

Ok, but DK was never a crisp route runner. Use him as a decoy snd throw to somebody who is, especially when the game is on the line.

Fair point. Trying to go 91 yards in 55 seconds is always going to have some risk. JSN or Tyler would have been better bets. If DK did that route as drawn up, it's 20+ yards and clock stops. No risk it no biscuit, too much risk it, no biscuit either.

Yeah, Geno makes too many mistakes.

But DK, man I dunno. All the talent in the world but you can't rely on him not to switch off in big mistakes.
I feel bad for Geno on that one play because DK hung him out to dry, but Geno is a vet so he can handle it. I dunno how a rookie QB would handle stuff like that, or how a QB can ever trust going to DK in big moments on anything other than a sideline jump ball.
