I stopped reading at "And while I respect Seattle's defense -- especially when the unit is playing at home, in front of the rabid inhabitants of CenturyLink Field -- Rodgers is unstoppable."

Yea, the schedule has some 'interesting' challenges, but this early you really can't tell how hard or easy it is. Some teams will fall off, some will be stronger than expected. :Dunno:
Rodgers lost to the whiners last year twice, and Seattle has a better defense and Seattle is playing at home, where is his logic coming from? Schein has been a clown for quite awhile before this, this just cements it.

I think the schedule is favorable to us. Only game I look at and think "probably a loss" is @SF, and that's only because the NFL shafted us with another crucial game on the road on Thursday Night.

If Harvin stays healthy, our defense avoids a letdown, and Seattle dodges an officiating hachet job here and there (Indy last year), if all those things happen I think 19-0 could be in play.
Agreed.

Excellent, the LOB will have that quote about Rodgers being unstoppable up on the bulletin board, not that they need the extra motivation to destroy yet another HOF QB at home.

Pumping up an opposing offense is a surefire way to ensure they get smoked.

19-0 would involve more than a little luck but 14-2 in the regular season 2-0 in the playoffs and 1-0 in the Superbowl is quite makeable regardless of the schedule.

I believe that the end of April is still too early to make educated guesses regarding our win/loss record against every team. One thing that I will predict is a Green Bay loss here in Seattle......period!

Normally I'd agree but I was calling for us to win XLVIII this time last year, so I'm on FIRE! 8)

Who knows how 2014 plays out. We all know the Rams and Cards are going to be tough outs. I can see the niners back pedaling and the Hawks taking them out twice but losing Browner, Bryant, Clem and the big Russian will change the normal. Predicting wins and losses this early in the NFL year doesn't compute. To many variables. The draft, the law, the injury bug...The Hawks do have a deep team and will be one of the better teams in the league but anyone can be right making predictions right now.

I'm glad the national media is already writing us off. All the sweeter to shut them up again. :)

Statistically as of right now we have a challenging schedule. My main concern about this whole thing is how early bye week is. I am concerned about injuries in the harder, later part of the season. Every time I here unstoppable about a QB the more I see our guys using it like fresh ammo.

The schedule is challenging, but I don't see as really any worse than last season looked at this juncture. You never really know how it all plays out once the whistle blows on opening night. As for Rodgers, how many top notch QBs have we faced in the last two seasons? IIRC, our record is pretty good against the best QBs in the league.

I think its a fair article overall, most of it is validish. I love Aaron Rodgers, personally think he's the best player in the league, but he's not unstoppable because we've stopped him before.

Fate gave Rodgers the most favorable conditions for taking down the Niners last postseason, and he still didn't get the job done.

This.

Seahawks are good, very good. And with Percy and RW's continued development the offense will take a couple of steps forward. Will our guys repeat? Statistically speaking, no. But I'm guessing like many of you, the doubters will fuel the fire of these guys. Those of us who watch this team every game know they have a very good chance of doing it.

I wonder when these guys are finally gonna realize that those teams have to play the SEAHAWKS.

Since when?
Since we already stopped the unstoppable Peyton Manning.

But, but, Manning didn't have DeMarcus Ware and Von Miller on defense...

I'm not sure how that article is a hatchet job. It merely is pointing out the obstacles we need to overcome to repeat. It's easy to say a team won't repeat. It doesn't happen all that often. I believe we will overcome more of those obstacles than we will stumble on, but that doesn't make it a hatchet job to write about the possibility of our failure, I just don't have to agree

+1. Even the great teams rarely repeat. We act as though all of the national writers should agree with our blatantly homeristic views or they are disrespecting us.

^^^,
Not so much. There are some very valid points in this thread as well as some acknowledging points he makes.

You have to admit he does give benefit of doubt to the opposition in every scenario and never once acknowledges having Harvin and Rice to help Baldwin and Krause.

I think it is hard for some writers to see we could actually be better. They see a healthy defense win the super bowl and then lose what they consider key players. They forget our offense dealt with dramatic injury issues that took our best receivers and O-lineman off the field a very large part of the season.

The guys that departed could be upgraded and if the O-line and receivers stay healthy our offense could force opponents to play into our defensive strength trying to pass to keep up. There is a formula in place to make this years team better than last. Add in some injury luck and it is downright scary.

I think the NFL see's this also and the schedule reflects them wanting to keep parity. Having us demoralize the entire league is fun for us but when people are changing the channel or not bothering to watch at all it negatively effects the $$.
