Honestly - when this diatribe shows up in my local newspaper, and I'm in Calgary - 'suck' has gone to 'insaneo suck mode'.

It's pretty bad! Donkey fans much be pissing their pants right now, or breaking all their televisions.

Go Go Super Suck!

So glad this is out of our lives ;)

Wow what an article. It confirms what my eyes have been seeing for years and my screaming at the TV as he would do another of his roll backwards into a sack. All of the world blamed the O line. It was never the O line. LOL

Was that in today's Herald? I haven't looked yet. (yeah I live in Calgary too). As you probably know, the Broncos are a pretty popular team here. I got taunted by a few after the trade in the off-season. They are all quiet now, except for the colleague who came to my desk even before Thurs this week and asked me "do you want your QB back".

You know what's funny for me? The Donks were 'almost' the team that I fell for when I first started watching the NFL.

XL year. First HD TV. TANK of a DLP unit - must have weighed 300 pounds. I didn't care - I was in heaven.

It literally came down to the Donks and the Hawks. SA's touchdown record chase changed my mind, and here we are.

Funny - and YES, that was in today's Herald.

I was trying to follow the CFL this season. I just couldn't. I tried. I'll re-engage at the playoffs - which, as you know, in the CFL is the only thing that matters ;)

pass. run. punt. repeat ;) or run. pass. punt. repeat ;)

With the lack of replies to this thread, notwithstanding that was one brilliant write up shows how much people don't care about what a Canadian paper says. Even though it was better put than anything that has come out of CBS, ESPN, FOX, etc etc etc.
In fact all the woke USA sites are so trying to protect RW they wont write something so Damming. Because RW has become their poster boy or inclusion etc.

But the facts are the facts!!!

It's a good article, but not at all surprising, at least not to me. I never have bought into the narrative that the offensive line was the root cause of Russell's "getting hit too much". Our OL's never have been the strength of the team, but neither were they chopped liver. It's a living hell for a lineman that has to block for a QB like Russell that hangs onto the ball forever then breaks the pocket to the outside instead of stepping up and allowing his tackles to push edge rushers wide.

One of my biggest complaints about Russell in the past few years with us was that he refused to change his game to compensate for his aging process. It's obvious that he doesn't have the same escapability as he did in his first few years, but he continued to hold onto the ball forever trying to extend plays that weren't going anywhere.

Russell needs to change his game from what he was doing in the past if he wants to be successful. I thought that this west coast offense style that Hackett brought in would do that for him, but it sure hasn't so far.
