I worry more about something like this, more than an actual "hit".

Not my picture, but perfect illustration of my concern.

Yeah I cringed when I saw this. Look at his left shoe. That could have been had news. Thought that move was the definition of dirty.

I'm no more worried about Wilson than any other QB in the league. Palmer, Brady, Manning, Hasselbeck, Schaub, Bradford...they've all missed time with significant injuries and not one of them plays the read option. Longevity is a different concern. Obviously if Wilson takes less hits his career will likely last longer. But as for individual seasons I don't feel he takes the same type of risks that Vick does to be concerned.

I think it's scary as a fan to think about any key player going down with injury. But there are a few reasons that Russell has a much better chance to stay healthy than other QB's.

1) His intelligence: He knows when to get down and when to get out of bounds.

2) His ability to slide correctly: He slides like he's been playing baseball for years.....oh wait! He has!

3) Ability to get out of the pocket: I'm much more afraid of the backside hits and getting rolled up on while in the pocket. His ability to get into the open field isn't scary! It's much safer!

4) His build: He's not a tall, long, and slower type QB. He is only 1lb lighter than Marshawn for goodness sake!!! He's well build, low to the ground and VERY adept and finding ways to get down without taking the huge hit.

5) His quickness: RW has a really quick reaction time to incoming threats. That's a big reason he can escape when it seems he is about to be swarmed in the pocket.

6) Because he's RW. Nuff said.

I love how everyone says we need to figure out the line issues. The issues are already known. LT and RT are out and replaced with backups. How many elite backups are out there guys?

Look at the beating Peyton took against Indy. Hmmm, backup LT and RT. Go figure. There is nothing to figure out. Just time and healing is needed. No ones o-line does good with your starting tackles out.
