The Seahawks have traded their first round pick to.....
ThisWe already have ten picks and Schneider hasn't moved down in the first in six years. We're not drafting high enough, nor is the first round deep enough, where moving down is likely to net us a bevy of day 2 picks.
Feels largely pointless. We only have so many roster spots for rookies.

Sure does feel like a JS trade down special.
Trade down into the mid 20’s. Flip a second and 3rd they acquire in the trade down for TJ Watt. Pick that safety from South Carolina with the 1st.
And then I woke up…
I put out a mock saying I would trade up for Colston Loveland personally.
However, I think the pick is most likely Donovan Ezeiruaku. There are my reasons why:
1) He plays a premium position. Like Seaside Joe said, the 18th overall pick will make somewhere in the ballpark of $3.1m, $3.8m, $4.5m, $5.4m during their rookie contract.
2) That's a crazy bargain if Ezeiruaku is productive. Even top 30 production.
3) He has the football character.
4) He has the production.
5) He has physical tools.
6) JS has drafted LT, CB, WR, 3T over the last few drafts. I don't think this changes. He drafts premium and valuable positions early on with great character and production.
Weaknesses
- Works under the block and loses contain.
- Gets engulfed by size when blockers get into him.
- Size of tackles helps to wear down his rush energy.
- Lacks bull-rush power to collapse tackles into pockets.
- Rush plan needs more time to develop and diversify.
- Average pursuit speed and closing burst.
StatonRob Staton makes a very compelling argument for the Seahawks trading up in the 1st to around 10ish. We have extra ammunition, and it wouldn't cost a ton. If the Jets are on the clock at 7 and Membou and Warren are still there then they will likely take one of them and we could trade up to 10 just ahead of the 49ers to take the final "blue chip" player in this draft. Panthers and Saints won't take either one so. Would the Bears do it? Maybe. And who knows, the Jets may even go QB at #7 allowing both to fall and not have to move up as much.
Yep, that's why they give away free drinks at the blackjack table, so the house can take your blue chips.Staton![]()

Not sure I like the sound of some of these points:
