When is Wiseniewski visiting Seattle? Because JS is at the Oregon Pro Day today. So if you're refreshing a lot expecting to see news of a deal, you're probably wasting your time.

Are we assuming that the visit didn't already happen? So many questions!!!

John doesn't have to be present. Pete can handle it (he is John's boss) and they have Pro-player people and most negotiations happen with a cap specialist.

I haven't watched the guy, but reading about him in this thread, he sounds like a Tim Ruskell type of free agent, not a typical PC/JS type.

I kind of want Seattle stay away. Sounds like he's more suited to man rather than ZBS, with a skillset that seems at odds with Tom Cable. I would hate to see Seattle pay decent dough and comp pick of some kind, only to bench him later because Cable is playing favorites again.

But if Seattle signs him, I wouldn't second guess. Seattle is in a SB window and because of that there is an allure to safe players. It would really help if the terms of the deal are sane.

It was pretty encouraging to see the developing trust in Patrick Lewis last season, to the point he was being preferred over LJP. Signing a name veteran will appease a lot of people concerned about the O-line -- I wonder if the best route is to trust the guys on the roster and add another name to the competition via the draft.

That's basically what Schneider said in his interview on Brock and Salk.

Wait, I thought he was a ZBS guy?

According to the comments in here, he played best in man.
PFF gave him his best score in 2013, when they went more power, according to reports I read. Still, I was just watching him vs KC in 2013, and they were doing some zone principles at times. Considering it's Poe he is going against in this game, I was encouraged by a few things.

Scottemojo posts like this make this board what it is. I'm still the much better all around poster but your efforts are appreciated. :)

If we sign him I trust he fits our system well.

pff is the sound I make when I read PFF's OL scores. Thanks though, interesting to know.

He makes the line calls, one of the things you see on the coaches tape. Which is a big deal.

All in all, while I won't expect miracles from him, I won't feel like he is a huge downgrade at the position.

I'm sure JS could fly back up here very quickly and meet with Wis this evening. He's got staffers who will probably start the process without him. I doubt it will be a big hindrance.
He can just use Paul Allen's teleport machine

I thought that was pretty much a given for the Center position, no matter how well they perform.

Posted the same headline, same time! Mods you can delete mine.

A little extra info on him:

"The Raiders plan to let free agent C Stefen Wisniewski test the open market.
Wisniewski isn't expected to be re-signed after the Raiders failed to get an extension done during the season. He's been a full-time starter since entering the league in 2011 -- missing only three games over the last four seasons. 25-year-old Wisniewski should draw interest from multiple teams. He's seeking a contract in the range of $3 million annually."

Why do people say mods you can delete or move their posts . Don't they do it anyway? Is permission needed?

good Centers, yes. There's a lot of QBs that make the protection calls. Also, guys like Payton Manning prefer to make the calls themselves.

No permission isn't needed. Mine was posted a split second before this one but this thread got the first reply which tends to get the most attention. Basically I'm saying I don't care, go ahead with this one.

Russ had to make the line calls when LMJ, Lewis, and Schilling were in there.
