Again, the stuff people get worked up about. SO many kids won't be in school tomorrow. And it won't be a big deal. They won't do crap about it. Period.
So serious. I mean, imagine the alternative. Folks got bills to pay. Not everyone can afford to take the day off to stay home with the kid(s) or try and find a sitter for a 2 hour parade in crowded ass Seattle. It's just not logistically prudent.

Didn't say "bad". It just begs the question "why are you worried about SEATTLE schools?". In any event, I'm 10000%certain you're gonna see loads of kids tomorrow, and none of them or their parents will get in any type of trouble for it.
Let's just say I care about children no matter what school district. And when something happens positive in their community and the learning that can come from this community event might be helpful for some of the s*** that they don't learn in school maybe they learn to work together Etc

Gotcha. But, just so I'm clear, you're suggesting that it should be a mandatory city/statewide holiday/no school day?

FFS man, lighten up. The experience is a rare one. People letting their kids experience something that is happening for only the SECOND TIME in 50 fricken years.....oh the horror 🙄🙄🙄

Seems a bit peculiar that the Seattle Public School District went through the trouble to issue a statement at all, especially for an event that could possibly never again be experienced in the Northwest. (Not saying I doubt Seahawks will ever win it all again, just saying.)

Probably ahead of the Karen moms complaining 🙄

If they had a parade when I was a kid, zero chance my pops doesn't take us kids.

Meanwhile in the real world…

Teachers will show up (as they are contractually obligated to do), notice there are a boatload of absent students, then decide to either watch the parade on TV or just have a no jeopardy study review during their class periods, perhaps offering a few extra credit points to those there.

No big deal.

Hopefully a ton of kids are able to attend and celebrate and witness the fruits of a lot of work & dedication. All while taking some pride in their city and getting some fresh air with family & friends at an event they won't soon forget.

Great point. But there should be EXCUSED ABSENCES! There is no reason not to excuse them. It hurts no one.

School funding is based on butts in seats. An absence (excused or unexcused) has a direct impact on funding.

Knowing that they could be losing many thousands of dollars it would be irresponsible of the district not to put out a statement encouraging kids to attend school.
