I’m seriously worried. I’ve been a fan too long and this is the kind of dude who has a career day against the Seahawks only to lose the next 6 in a row all to the Jets.

Lumen does this to people.

Colt McCoy going 3-0 against the Seahawks while never doing a darn thing anywhere else.
Drew Stanton of the Cardinal’s winning at Lumen in 2017 only to take a job at Office Max shortly thereafter.
Marcus Mariota in a Falcons W playing in Lumen and being so possessed I think he caught his own pass IIRC.
2019 saw HOF’er Drew Brees sit out at Lumen only to have Terry Bridgwater throw two TD’s in a Saints win.
Mason Rudolph beating the Seahawks in Seattle with a playoff spot on the line.

And don’t get me started on road losses to the likes of Nick Mullins and Taylor Heinicke.

I know I’m missing some guys as well.

Be afraid, be very afraid. So far Mac has exorcised the demons, but let’s not sleep on this kid.

Dude, you ain’t lyin’.

That’s my legit concern as well. We’ve all seen it too many times. Sure I can pound my chest and tell you ain’t no way, but…

All we can do is watch and hope the Hawks don’t look past them and play with intensity and execution as if it was the best team in football.

My concern isn’t who is the better team. My concern is if they play down to their opponent and get burned like they have done many times in the past.

Hopefully Mike will have them prepared.

Not too worried. All of the instances you mention occurred well after this team lost it's identity on defense, post LOB. After Mebane, Bryant, Cliff and MB left, the FO (Pete) never spent the time they should have building a punishing, intimidating, and attacking front to pressure opposing QBs and stop the run. Between 2017 and 2024, we wasted time futzing around with splash signings and overly complex tweaks to what was a great defensive foundation, losing ourselves (and Ws) in rudderless defenses manned by incompetent or 'passed their expiration date' defensive coordinators.

This defense and its leadership in no way resemble those units that would allow journeyman qbs to waltz in here and ride out like conquering heroes. Their guy might make some plays, but surprise us? Nah. We are back to getting pressure on QBs with just our front 4. We havent been able to do that in a decade. Sunday will be fun.

Well said.

The LOB got so much of the credit. But, it was the 7 man rotation the LOB played behind that made it possible. Mcdonald and Schneider and company have done a masterful job of putting together a formidable rotation up front.

As a group, they are just getting started.

What Rehire said. I think dynamics are completely different in the current era such that our D is capable of bringing the pressure to stop, or at least curb, any Marino-esque nonsense.

I'm preferring to think the Hawks D turns him into John Skelton circa Cards 2012. Or Goff 2016

A lot of it is the dynamic of taking teams too lightly. This happens to a lot of teams in the NFL, not just the Seahawks. But the margins between the best teams and the worst teams are not that big, and any letdown will lead to a beatdown.

No matter what coaches might say to the team, the players are thinking, we're playing a team that's 0-2 and some scrub is their quarterback.

That stadium is now OUR house of horrors. I just get a sinking feeling whenever we play there, it doesn't matter who the opponent is. I can't put a finger on it, but I hope MM can solve the problem. This all started around the time old hot dog neck was coaching in Arizona and it has gotten worse every year since.

Remember too it's not just cause of the D that some of these ham and eggers won. In some of those games the O didn't get to 20 points putting the team in a situation where 1 or 2 lapses and it was a loss

I recall the McCoy win with the Giants in 2000. If the offense hadn't been so terrible that day, whatever the Giants did on O would not have been enough to win. I really remember the O in that game cause that was kind of my tipping point from thinking Russ was awesome and could do no wrong in my eyes into "what is he doing" mode where i got frustrated with him holding the ball so long.

If we are missing the likes of Witherspoon, Emmanwori, Love all at the same time there could be holes to fill with?
The Giants have come into Lumen repeatedly with inferior teams and left with another W. Saints have put together a winning record vs us for several years post Beastquake game. It simply will not do for us to assume a W is on autopilot. One game, one play at a time is tantamount.
We lost to the NINERS to open the season. Never should have happened, but it did.

That was the day Me3 was exposed to a zone defense that to
this day gives him fits, that day was on him and not the D.

I think Macdonald is a different animal at this stage than Pete was late in his career. We do have a little bend don't break so I expect some success but a few mistakes as well. We're good.

The Saints QB is Spencer Rattler, they drafted Tyler Shough to be QB1 .... that plan failed at Training Camp / Pre Season

We have a very good Defense (handled Arod without Spoon or Emmanwori)...... if we fail to win this the season may well be over & we look at a high draft pick
