Excellent!

It wasn't posted for your amusement. It was posted as fact.

It was posted as your opinion. No facts were involved
.

There actually are facts behind it as well as common sense that you do not expose your $35M QB with backup lineman going against the #1 Dlinemen.

But I chose not to present the facts as I assumed the common sense would be good enough for any reasonable person. The unreasonable I couldn't care less less about. That seems to be the real issue here.

You continue to use the word facts like they're equivalent to opinions. But throwing in common sense was a good way to further prove that you're wrong due to your complete and total lack of evidence.

But hey, I suppose following your logic above, we should hold out Russell Wilson in the regular season, too, if there are backups in.

Sure! It's a free world. Do as you wish within the laws.

Where did I equate pre-season is as important as regular season in you telling me "my logic"??

Surely it's all of the above and not some as concrete as "to give back up QBs more reps" or... "protect RW from needless risk in preseason game 1"

The affirmation bias and constant debating seem pointless in addressing the likelihood that these, plus other factors, led to a decision.

Doubling down on being right is also probably being wrong in this instance.

Now this I agree 100% with. All the above. Of those reasons, protecting Wilson is #1....fact! And stated as such because nobody else brought this up. :irishdrinkers:

Tripple down! :2thumbs:

Yeah, Pete was pretty clear why Wilson didnt start, and it had nothing to do with putting an already injured Geno Smith out there as a purposeful punching bag for the opponent.

It was to get extended looks at both backups.

But hey, what are facts in an age #fakenews, where we pick and choose what to embrace, what to reject, and what to flat out fabricate according to what fits our own predetermined narrative?

LOL. What do you expect Pete to say? We don't want Russell to get pounded with backup Olineman in because we don't trust them to protect our investment??

"Pete said" is one of the worst reasons someone could give as "fact" in this case!

You will say that until "pete says" something that confirms your own bias.

Read it again. Gregg Bell said that means olinemen are out. He is a paid professional to report on the team and yes I defer to him as fact.

Just because you posted this, that does not make it correct either.

Bell is very well respected and paid to cover the team, and his prediction that olinemen would be out came true...didn't it??

I will continue to trust his word over anyone here....like it or not.
Gregg Bell is the Seahawks and NFL writer for The News Tribune. In January 2019 he was named the Washington state sportswriter of the year by the National Sports Media Association. He started covering the NFL in 2002 as the Oakland Raiders beat writer for The Sacramento Bee. The Ohio native began covering the Seahawks in their first Super Bowl season of 2005. In a prior life he graduated from West Point and served as a tactical intelligence officer in the U.S. Army, so he may ask you to drop and give him 10.

Not racism. The poster is actually making fun of the rumor of racism from Wilson's fellow players. (IMO)

Yeah and everyone but Jon Gruden said Wilson was a career back up or practice squad guy. you trust who you want I never said not too, I trust my eyes and multiple points of view and not homer writers getting paid tp pump a team many times.

Why most of KJR and local Radio guys are almost impossible to listen too as well, they are worried about access to players etc.

Terrible example for many reasons. First off, not all even said that! 2nd were they all paid to exclusively cover his team for every year he played for 7 years? 3rd, Please do tell what "your eyes" told you why Russ missed this game when he never has before?

Nope......Nope.......Nope

Nope......Nope.......Nope

Lets see why, he has practiced a lot on the field, he has worked with the receivers in California this off season a lot already, They had two unknowns in camp vying for the back up position and wanted to know as much as they could about them. Russell is now at an age where he can get a lot out of film and watching guys and helping them, with the mismatched line and rotation of people his being a part of it really didn't add anything other then a risk that wasn't warranted at this time, they just invested the equivalent of the price of Paul Allen's Yachts in him and to lose him in the first game wasn't worth it considering they had so much more to evaluate.

His shipment of Bubble water had not arrived yet either, can't play without his water.

The way I heard PC explain it was that they won't be starting any starting OL man and it didn't make scent to let Russ have to run for his life with out them in there. That and it was a game to see what the younger guys can do.

Its called common scents. The end. :snack:

If Russell doesn't take a snap all season, he could start game one and have his timing and touch set in about 10 plays. This guy works more than anyone and throws to his people all the time. He has seen all the defenses they can muster and preseason won't help him with that anyways. If this was year 1, 2 or 3? Sure.. but believe it or not this is year 8 for a guy that is incredibly talented and accurate that stays in exceptional shape. This is the kind of guy that would argue to the coach that he NEEDS the reps in preseason if he felt for one second that he did.

All of what you say is probably true, but getting reps in preseason games isn't just about Russell's mechanics. It's his familiarity with receivers, his linemen's familiarity with his voice, the movement of players from the sidelines to the huddle, reading and making calls, etc. All of that can't be simulated in practice, at least not with the realism that comes with an actual game against an opponent they haven't seen every day for a month.

Last Thursday was the first game in Russell's 8 years in the league that he hasn't played in a preseason game. Obviously the coaches see some value in having him get some snaps.

It's a solid mix of really grouchy people, and then the normal folk that have become over sensitized because of said grouchy people.
