Why didn’t the Seahawks cut Anthony Bradford?

If ever there was evidence needed that Zabel is overrated, there is plenty to be found, right here in this thread.

Does he have the potential to be Hutch? Absolutely. Is he on a HOF trajectory? Absolutely. Is PFF wrong to grade him only slightly better than Bradford? Nope.

He’s one of the best rookies we’ve seen in recent memory. His errors aren’t as obvious as Bradford’s. Hell at least one of Bradford’s lowlights was actually Zabel’s error. Unlike Bradford, he has the speed and the mental agility to cover his own mistakes.

But fans need their whipping boys (Bradford), and whatever the polar opposite of that is (golden child Zabel).

I love the dude. One of my favorite Seahawks. There is no one else I want in that spot, but he’s probably the third best lineman on our team. He’s not Hutch yet, and he’s not an elite lineman yet. If he was a free agent, he’d probably be getting a contract around 20th highest, and that’s a not a dig on him at all.

I'm not putting Zabel on a pedestal yet, it's all about the potential and a decent rookie season. Some players you can watch and just know they'll be good while others you wonder. But there is no way in hell that Zabel would be graded closely to Bradford in any sane grading system. I don't care what anybody tries to tell me.

There was also a big difference between Zabel's first half and his second. The same can't be said about Bradford. He was up and down throughout.
